I guess talented artsy types could remove the eyes and repaint them in the proper spot?

I'd hope so but my fear is that the entire pony is painted, meaning you'll ruin the paint job trying to get the eye off.

When they've done painted ponies in the past, usually the dominant color is the color of plastic that they used to make the pony and then they paint on any other colors.  The Wonderbolts set, for example, had Soarin and Spitfire as dark blue pony bodies with the wings and ears painted.    The other ponies in that set just had the vests painted on their normal color.

Yeah, like with the Ghostbusters pony, the body will probably be tan plastic (like the color of the uniform) with the little bit of pony 'skin' and other details being painted on. While the head will be red plastic, with the eye details painted.

Unfortunately I don't think you could do much to paint the Transformers and Power Ranger ponies because it looks like the entire head has a lot of details painted on, but those ponies are wearing eye visors so you wouldn't need to repaint for eye placement, anyway.

I want a Jem pony pack. We could have two Holograms, two Misfits and two Stingers. Jem, Pizzazz and Riot would be the obvious first choices, but who would be the second?

It's okay.

I kinda thought something was off, because most of these retro ponies I've seen have been cranked out using the same G1/G3-size mold and "My Little Prime" looked the same way.
