2018 equestria girl doll alternative clothing
« on: March 18, 2020, 03:07:02 PM »
What type of clothing fits the 2018 equestria girl dolls? I want to make my Fluttershy her own gala dress but not sure what dolls will fit her. Disney dolls are too big and EAH and MH are too small in her bust.

I googled it, it seems most 12" fashions will work. There's not a lot of info out there though.

Alternatively,  making your own doll gown is not very difficult, especially if you use non-fraying fabrics like lace or tulle. Just trace the bits you like from the clothes you already have. You could make her something really pretty and unique with only a little sewing, if any. (It's quite possible to make gorgeous doll clothes without sewing, if you don't want to. You just have to be a little creative in hiding the glue, lol.)

Just an idea. I find most doll dresses really underwhelming or too club-y/princess-y. A nice, pretty dress in the right colors can be really hard to find, so making one is very satisfying.

Hope you find what you're looking for, and I love to see her when you finish it>

How to sew a pretty dress to fit any doll, no pattern needed:

(skip to about 7: 50 for the dress)  She's  got mad skills, but the idea can be scaled down or up to fit any skill level. :)  Just switch the feathers for another trim, and there ya go. Her other videos are really good for ideas as well. It's all in Korean, but it's easy to see what she's doing.

this one is even easier, and has subtitles

buy her some butterflies for dirt cheap:(shipping takes a while, but aliexpress is where you want to go to buy decorations like this. They have tons.)

or make them like this:

(skip to 16:20) flowers! same technique works for the butterflies, and the dress hems, as long as you use synthetic fabric.
