What is rarer? Concave feet or flat feet?
« on: March 04, 2020, 07:58:34 AM »
Hello everyone,

I was on ebay today and saw a minty with flat feet for about 20 bucks inc shipping.(Anyone knows what she goes for these days?) It got me wondering about the 6 collector ponies. What is rarer, flat feet or concave feet? Or does it vary per pony? What do you prefer?

I don't have a preference, really.

Cheers,

Luke

Flat Feet are rarer for the most part? I've actually not come across a concave foot Butterscotch though. Or Bluebelle. Curious if that changes for those ponies. As far as Cotton Candy and Blossom go, it's concave feet 9/10 times.
I prefer concave because it's easier to make them stand up.
I wouldn't pay over $10 for a collectors pony unless she was minty fresh but that's me.

Flat feet tend to fetch a higher asking price than their concave counterparts.
Cotton Candy really does seem to be the most common of both types. Yes, FF Minty has always commended some higher prices. Butterscotch you're lucky to find without issues either version... Hardest to find would be FF Peachy.
I prefer flat feet, I like the way their hooves look.

Concave is more common for sure for Blossom and Cotton Candy (rereleased in Year 2 along with Applejack etc) and Peachy.  Peachy's FF version must have been sold for a very short time, it hardly ever comes up.

I'm honestly not sure about the other ponies.

Except Lemon Drop only has a CF release, no FF, so for her the answer is easy.  ;)

In the UK, Minty is more common with FF. All the others are more common with CF, but they're none of them super rare. Except CF Minty.

FF Peachy was also never sold here. I have never seen her being sold anywhere but from the US.

I don't really love either, they're kind of dull, but if I had to choose I'd go with the CF as some of them are more vivid and FF ponies tend to age badly.
