G3 Toola-Roola? Pony with a makeover or same-name syndrome?

There are some awesome names in other languages across the generations, it's such a shame they stopped translating names sometime in G3 :/

One of my favourites is still Montgolfière for Up Up and Away, but that's off topic.

If I recall correctly, (and I hope nobody's mentioned it yet; if so, my bad!) Toola-Roola's name is possibly a reference to the Irish-American lullaby 'Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ral', which was written in 1913 for a musical. You can hear Bing Crosby's version here!

Could be why her original symbol was Celtic-themed!

EDIT: I remember I made the connection when I was little and would listen to Bing Crosby records while playing with my ponies in the living room. I had Toola-Roola and I was like...OH. And then promptly changed the lyrics of the song to fit her name when I sang it to her since they sounded similar but didn't quite match up xD

Dakota, I love Bing Crosby!  And I had thought of that as well, the first one is the one we have and I love her Celtic inspired swirls. 

The second one seemed like a reboot of Fingerpaint to me?  Like they took her and put her in the reboot show and gave her Toola's name?  Like how around the same time Cheerilee was originally a unicorn and then became an Earth pony that looked just like Cherry Blossom.

I call the second Toola Roola Roola Toola too!!! And to me they are different Ponies.

Cherry Blossom is Cherry Blossom, & G3.5 Cheerilee (& newborn cutie) are her younger sisters.

I see them as two different ponies.  The 2nd Toola Roola looks like she took on G3 Rarity's color scheme, which makes me wish they'd just used Rarity in the Core 7 instead of a redesigned Toola Roola.

I do agree with that. I think I just loved Toola Roola for her painter/artist theme but her colors were very lackluster. I have the version of her covered in paint splotches with a palette accessory, and being an artist I always loved her for that. I wish, being the creative artist she is, they would've taken a sec to rethink her colors and make her kinda funky looking. Maybe blue, with green, purple, and red hair, give her some splotchy shaped paint reflections in her eyes, like some of the special ponies had symbols in their eyes. But she was Core 7 which was when G3 dropped off in originality. Still love her, though.

I have her and G2 Miss Painter, just need G1 Painting Time and I could assemble a whole art academy! Does G4 have any artists?
