Schleich Thread

I feel like I've seen a Schleich thread before but it might have been old... or maybe they were just sales related? Anyway here's a dedicated thread if you want to show off anything Schleich! I really like the Bayala line but I don't need to buy any more horses... not right now, anyway. They're gorgeous, though.

So instead of horses I bought some dragons!

I need to take (better) pictures of the playset itself but here are the Island dragons I have now:

I also bought the flower dragons, who haven't arrived yet. I hope they come out with more because there aren't enough cutesy girly dragons in the world! The other Schleich dragons are really cool but Bayalas are what I'd rather spend my money on, I think... I know Safari has some cool ones too that I might get in the future.

I was never big on the schleich toys, but I would often spend any left over birthday money on one, since they sold them at my local chapters. I have some of the bayala ones, and they are beautiful! I’ll take a pic of the ones I have later perhaps. But they are very cool!

I’ve collected Bayala (both the “classic”/original designs and the newer stuff) for a few years, and I’ve recently taken interest in some of the Eldrador creatures. (I had to buy the Fire Bull because of The Last Unicorn vibes, haha.) I also pick up a Schleich dragon, horse, or cat from time to time.

Also, yes! If you like Schleich’s “cute” dragons, definitely check out Safari’s selection! They have almost an entire sub-line of cute dragons, in addition to their more traditional ones:

I have a bunch but they're all packed away right now. I gotta admit that the quality of the newer stuff has taken a hit, especially the fantasy lines. Those dragons look good though.

Most of my Schleichs are cats, dogs & other pets for the Ponies, except a tiger shark for Bakana's collection

I have some Bayalas and some archers/crossbowmen from their knights line (don't remember what the medieval toyline was called, haven't seen them in ages so I guess they no longer make them).

I especially love the old shadow elves. They look like vampiric fairies. Wish they'd make more of them, though I understand that when making toys you have to aim to make stuff that the kids want, not what the adult collectors want. And I suppose the more bright and colourful elves must be more popular among kids.

I have a small herd of Schleich animals. Mostly horses, some cats, zebras, Highland cattle. I've never collected them in a goal-oriented manner, I simply buy whenever something catches my fancy... For some reason, although I love fantasy, I'm always been more interested in their realistic animal figurines. Those dragons are adorable, though!

It's been a while since I got any new ones and now I feel like buying again, haha! Thanks for the thread

Oh those look stunning! Haven't bought anything from schleich in years but this new line seems like something I'd enjoy!

From my childhood I kept some of my dinosaur collection, especially carnivorous ones. Some old ones definitely didn't age well in terms of anatomy and design though. It's nice that they are making feathered dinosaurs these days.
