Cute!  A pet mouse?  Does he live in a Hamster Cage?  Does he eat Cheese?

Kovu is in a bin cage, made from an Ikea Samla bin. I might be getting a 40 gallon breeder tank for him soon, though.

And nope, no cheese. It's actually not very good for mice!

Austin.  Named after WWE Wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin, because he has one stone cold blue eye.  Here he is soaking up the fireplace heat from a cold morning last month.

Sassy, my outdoor kitty.  She was named by the neighbor's kid.

Black kitty is Carter, named after Sheriff Carter from tv series Eureka.  Orange kitty Cena, after WWE's John Cena.  Kittens like to wrestle and rough-house.  That's how Austin and Cena got their names as kits.

And finally, my rescue chicken Bernie and her new friend Belina.  Bernie fell off a truck on the way to the processing plant in March 2018, so she's two years old now!  A friend was going to give me a buff orpington to be Bernie's friend, and she showed up with Belina, a Ameraucana.  No offense to chicken lovers, but I think Ameraucanas are ugly.  I named her after the chicken from the film Return To Oz.

This is Heather.  She basically was my daughter.  She passed away a few months ago in October.  She was 18 years old.  Her birthday was Feb. 26th, so she would have been 19 if she was still here.  I miss her greatly.

I'm so sorry for your loss; I know how devastating it is to lose that special pet.  They are family, and often closer to us than human family members.  My old lady died 2 and a half years ago, also at the age of 18.  She was my companion through so much, and I don't think I'll ever really get over it.
