I want her, I think ponies are a bit interesting when their hair color is lighter than their body color.

I think she's very pretty with that color combo.   But her symbol seems overly complicated.

Her colors are quite pretty. That symbol though, it doesn't stand out enough given the color and it seems too busy to me. She's a pass.

There's another pose for her? I had no idea with

Yeah there is.

But that's the only one we know about.

I think probably more existed, because that's the pose that appears in the promo catalogue from Hasbro for that year. It's my theory there were probably a bunch of them for promo photos and events, or maybe a kind of test production to work out which pose to use - and they went with the other one.

In any case she's the only one thus far to have survived, but there are thought to be 2 surviving alternate pose baby Billies (one of which is owned by a pony community member) so it makes sense that there must have been more Susies at one point too.

I got this one 20 years ago and fully expected to see more pop up. Just none ever did :/

But me too. I really want to know so much more about her, whether there's as Katie, whether the Billie LadyG has is the same as the photo I was sent from France years and years ago...

it's hard to be sure since LadyG, like me, got hers from UK ebay in an unmarked auction for a low price. Her Billie also has some damage the one in the photo I was sent didn't have, so for them to be the same pony it would mean not only travelling across the channel but also having her hair trimmed and eye rubbed in the process. Two things that seem unlikely given the photo was sent to me from a collector who knew what they had was unusual.

On the other hand, that picture shows some light wear to the eye.

Since the Gallery is locked down still, I can't pull out LadyG's picture to compare. I have some photos in my files somewhere from Ponycon and other meets, though, and the damaged eye on LadyG's looks to be the same one showing minor wear in that picture. So they COULD be the same pony. Just it's a mystery why a person who knew it was unusual would pass it on to someone in the UK who would sell it without knowing what it was...

On balance I do think there are two, and I think there must have been more than one Susie. If you look at the promo photo in the booklet from Hasbro in various European places that year, it's the same pose as mine, but I don't think it's my pony in the photo. So that means there must be at least two of her as well...?

In any case, Susie hasn't travelled with me for a long time (not since LadyG almost left Billie at ponycon in 2006 and we both kind of took fright about ponies getting lost in the melee!) but she did travel out before that to pony meets (She went to one ponycon and one earlier meet in 2003) where other collectors saw her in person, as with Billie. There's no doubt that they are basically store ready ponies, not prototypes in the sense of being painted or unfinished or ceramic. They're just not in the right pose...

Such a mystery. It does my head in.

I have her. I love the vibrant colours in this set. I'm not too fussed about thier small pals, which is probably just as well as they are htf.
