Someone trying to login to my Instagram

I got probably 20 emails in the span of a few hours from Instagram.  I don't get on there much, but I do have an account.  It looks like someone in Brazil either did login, or was trying to login to my account. 

I went ahead and changed my password, but this worries me.

Why would someone even want my Instagram account?  Should I be worried about my bank account? 

It's just odd...  And  though it is probably un-related, I did get a call yesterday on my way home, apparently from my bank, and they wanted me to confirm my email.  Thankfully I did NOT answer them, I told them I would do that in person.  Maybe I should call my bank or head over there today.  I'm just concerned now.

I guess this is just me worrying too much, but it's odd this all happened on the same day.  I just noticed the emails this morning.

Anyone else have something like this happen?

I've seen people hack accounts for various reasons, like a few people would get their Depop accounts hacked in order for the hackers to scam people out of their money. I'd imagine motivations for Instagram hacking are similar, like maybe it's for a "Pay for followers" thing.
I think I would change the password associated with that email, maybe any passwords that are shared.

I went ahead and changed my password, both on Instagram and my bank account.   They are totally different.

There is so much theft and scamming anymore that I don't take this lightly.

I recently had my Netflix hacked, so I totally understand!

You've got to be careful with emails too. I got one that said someone was trying to access my Google account but it wanted me to click a link in the email. No way, man. I went to my actual account and there was no suspicious activity. I changed my password just in case, but I doubt that the email was legit.

Oh my gosh! I have been getting so many weird emails and I end up looking them all up! Yes its getting bad! People will do anything to get someone else's money!

Ok, I am glad I changed some passwords. Apparently Facebook now had suspicious activity and I had to confirm my identity and change that password.   Something is definitely up.  :/

I had that happen with Livejournal, by someone is Russia. I have not used LJ in about 10 years.

I stopped using lj when all the rules changed and you have to confirm something that relates to Russian law to log in. I don't know Russian law so am not going to try.

Yeah, Hackers and Identity Theft...
Best to delete the emails and either call the bank directly or better yet go in person with a password set up...
How do you know that they are in Brazil or Russia or Whatnot?
