The G4 train and batteries...
« on: January 16, 2020, 12:37:54 PM »
So I acquired this last summer -I forget its proper name, it's a pink engine with carriage additions and a short stretch of looped purple track it can travel around. It uses batteries and I am wondering what the situation is with replacing the battery (if it can be done or if it can't). Looking at it right now I can't see any indication of how you would change the battery, but most other G4 stuff I've seen has the ability to add in or take out batteries (like the talking larger ponies Celestia, Cadence etc). Am I missing something obvious or does this not have that option?

Right now it still works but we were looking at whether it was possible to take out the batteries to store it.

I’ll have to dig out ours, but iirc, the batteries can be taken out from the bottom.

I think that the batteries are in the front circular part - there should be a screw on the bottom (where south would be) you need a cross screwdriver but try a couple different ones as it was an awkward size for ours.

Good shout on getting the batteries out - I got one for free at a market and it was covered with battery acid, leeching out of the cover and all over the train! It’s complete with a headless rubber pony on the front and plenty of chew marks to add to the horror!

All the best,
