Paradise Estate Arrived! ((Hyperventilates))
« on: January 08, 2020, 02:03:43 AM »
I am so happy. Paradise Estate has been a major grail of mine forever. In all honesty I seriously doubted I'd ever actually get to own it, both because of the size and because of the price. But my dream finally came true! When I got home from work and saw the gigantic box, I seriously squealed out loud. Unboxing it was so thrilling, and I had such a fun time setting it up. It felt like I was a little kid again on Christmas day, overwhelmed with excitement and full of wonder and joy.

It is in perfect mint condition. The original owner either was the most careful child in the world, or they just didn't play with it very frequently. One decal sticker has a bit of damage, but that's seriously the only flaw. The roof is so pink. All the hinges work and it opens and closes smoothly. And it came with all the original accessories and the original box. I can't stop admiring the artwork on the box - it's so beautiful! They really, really don't make playsets like they used to!

It's currently set up in my dining room.  It takes up the entire 6-seater table with the tabletop extensions out, and the playset hangs over the edge when opened up.  Even though I've seen it in person before, I still got a shock to set it up and see how enormous it is. It was bigger than I remember it being! Personally I think it looks amazing set up on the dining table, but funnily enough the rest of my family is somewhat less enthusiastic about it  Sadly, I will have to pack it up over the next few days and put it away. But I am in negotiations with my family to convert the smallest bedroom into a pony room, so I am super hopeful that I will be able to display it eventually. One day.

I feel truly and deeply fortunate to be able to tick this major grail off my want list. The excitement will have to sustain me for a while, because after this big acquisition I'm going to have to scale back on collecting. Other financial commitments have to take priority for now, but hopefully I'll still be able to pick up a pony every now and then. And I can use the time away from active collecting to (hopefully) assemble my new pony room!
Sometimes pony dreams do come true! :lovey:

If you look at the dresser mirror, you can see the kitten on my phone's cover in the reflection

I'm not a small person. But the box it came it was big enough to mail me to the other side of the world!

Wow.  I've never seen this set in real life.  I think I'd like to have it one day, if I can find a place to put it.

I've never really been interested in Paradise Estate, but on your pictures it looks so precious! :D Congrats!

(Also, completely unrelated, but I have the same pony shirt, haha! :P )

Yooooo! What a wonderful condition too! Huge congrats! It always amazes me how big it is, especially since I’m used to other, smaller playsets like the lullaby nursery. Hopefully the day comes when you have a pony room soon to display it in. It’s too good to just keep tucked away!
Also, side note: my grandma in Australia has similar furniture to yours. This post is amazing, and making me a wee bit... not homesick, because I’ve never lived there permanently, but it is like homesickness.
This. Sentence. Is. False! Dontthinkaboutitdontthinkaboutit.

Thanks everyone!  Quite the dream come true. I'm getting pressure from my family to disassemble it so they can have their dining room table back, but it looks too good for me to pack it up just yet!

Hello from Australia! Most of the furniture you can see in these photos actually belonged to my grandparents! Their house was full of this style of dark wood furniture, and we kept most of it after they passed. Glad I could share a little bit of nostalgia with you :)

I gave away all my pony play sets when I was getting too old for my ponies (kept my ponies though!) and seeing pictures like these makes me miss them and wish I still had all my old play sets! Though to be honest, I don't know where I would put them! My parents still joke how it took them forever to set up the Paradise Estate for me. I think they bought it for me after I "earned" it by doing chores for a month or something like that.

How cute!! It's in gorgeous condition too and so jelly you got the box~ that artwork is sooo sweet!

This has definitely been on my wishlist forever too, and the only thing stopping me is where I'd keep it. IT'S HUGE! I mean I knew that, but it looks like it needs a whole room of it's own! But guaranteed your pony room will look amazing when it's all done with this in it!

Thanks, everyone!  I couldn't wait to share my excitement with my pony friends. My little kitty Charlie has decided he's moving into the estate. No respect for vintage pony playsets  I think it's time to finally pack this huge playset up, before my cats crush it!
