I just received my bundle of ponies today! Including Mint Kitty Love, she's very cute. I gave her a bit of time under the faucet and tried to curl her hair around her neck, thanks for the tips on how to care for their hair in here.

To answer the OP, my guess is the Arena and social media are the way to go.

It occurs to me to wonder, though - is there a possibility that if they get big enough, Hasbro will go after them with fire and fury? If I understand right, HQG1C is a fan operation...

Ideally there’s a happy medium where they sell enough to sustain the project but aren’t successful enough that Hasbro considers them a threat. Someone brought up Transformers 3rd party creators and how Hasbro is aware of them but hasn’t gone after them, but I have no idea how comparable HQG1C is because I’m not familiar with Transformers.

And yes, getting back to the social media issue, does anyone here run a toy blog/account on another site? If so, I’d say that’s a great place to post pictures and more information about HQG1C to get the word out. I would, but my blogs are completely unrelated to MLP (and i don’t post much anyway outside of this site), so I don’t think I’d do much good that way. Someone with a following, no matter the size, composed mostly of toy collectors would probably be more effective. That’s actually what I was trying to say in my original post, but for some reason I couldn’t articulate it.

I remember a few years back there were a couple of Arena people who customized ponies to augment their income who had MLP-heavy pages on Facebook. If we could track some of them down, maybe they'd be willing to put in a good word for HQG1C?

Although it occurs to me to that if they were trying to make income from their own customs, would they really want to advertise someone else's? Ugh capitalism.

I know I've seen MLP accounts on Facebook, Tumblr, and collections posted on Flickr, etc. Maybe we could reach out to some of those with strong followings? I don't really use social media much and I have no familiarity with Twitter or Instagram, but those are also popular places...

This one looks like there is a mark on her cheek, but it's really not there.  Maybe something on my lens?

She does have a flaw.  Two little dots that are in the plastic on her raised hoof.  It's definitely in the plastic.  I dug a bit with a needle.  I won't do more as I fear I will be left with holes.  lol!

I *love* the nylon hair!  I know it's pricier, but in my opinion it's worth it.  Soft and silky smooth!  <3

I tested her glow, and she looks like she has millions of tiny stars in her!  I am looking forward to bedtime now.  lol!

I'll keep my eye open for more of these in the future.

Elegance had an extra wonky eye highlight that a dab of paint fixed and a pin sized  indent on a leg.  She was a grab bag and I am giggling at the irony as I have no elegance.  Also got white baby brother who was going to be brother Minty.  His hair is too fluffy and soft to consider removing so maybe Siamese Minty?  They are G1 bodies but the plastic feels closer to G3.  😎

Oddly enough I thought HQG1C wasn't to be discussed at the Arena initially. I found them on Instagram, someone had made an incredible custom with one. Through searching I found out exactly what this was all about. I found it strange that the Arena didn't really have a lot of info about it, and just assumed only Hasbro-made ponies were to be discussed here.

I have the amazing Star Spangled, who really dragged me into HQG1's. I think that's where the line is going to be for most pony fans - there are those like myself who want the mold to be broken, with a rearing unicorn with somewhat TAF symbols that's a dark color. And others that want ponies like the Date Night set, who look straight out of Hasbro's catalog.

All in all I just ordered more ponies with the excuse "I have to help Clipper clear out stock" lol
