Spreading the word about HQG1C?

To those of you who don’t know what HQG1C is:
Do you like G1s?
Do you wish Hasbro was still making new G1 characters today?
Do you want certain sets/concepts that were never produced?
Do you wish there were more G1s in neglected poses, like the sitting and rearing poses?
Do you want to support a MLP community project?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you should check out HQG1C, or High Quality G1 Customs. As the name implies, they mass-produce custom G1 ponies, including entirely original characters, G1 characters who never made it into toy form (like Pretty Bow and the other 4 Pretty Mane ponies), and blank ponies that can be easily customized. They’ve also made some convention/meetup exclusives, and even experimented with existing molds to make new molds. Sounds cool, right?

Well, there’s a problem: the factory they use can only produce ponies in batches of 1000, and people aren’t buying that many, leaving tons of old stock left over. Until this old stock is bought, HQG1C is in a pickle, and can’t produce as many cool new ponies. So if you think the project sounds cool, please check it out and consider buying some ponies or spreading the word!

To those of you who are familiar with HQG1C: this comes from seeing the video regarding HQG1C’s future, which made me very sad. I don’t know what else I can do to support them except try and get the word out. I feel like HQG1C lacks advertising, and I sure don’t know how to do that, so maybe y’all do. I think spreading the word on Instagram, or Tumblr, or wherever there are collectors who may not have heard of HQG1C, might help, but I’m terrible at marketing, so I really don’t know. Any ideas?

I just. I really want the other 2 Glitter Island ponies. And the other 3 Farmer Boys, and the Ice Cream Social set. I’m so sad to think that they may never make it into production. I’d fund the project myself if I weren’t dead broke.

I love these ponies!  Great for customs or for collecting.  I'm definitely going to add some of the sea ponies and their shells to my collection this year.

Sad to see them throttling back on the number of ponies produced, but I do completely understand.  They don't order the ponies one at a time as collectors order them, they have to order and pay for 1000 per character at a time.   That's 6000 ponies alone for the Artistry Girls set. That must cost so much.

I agree on the marketing thing.  I think taking "glamour shots" of HQG1Cs and sharing them on social media would help?  Especially social media where people wouldn't otherwise see them.  I.e., Instagram, Twitter, etc.

It would be nice if they were easier to get. For Europeans there only seems to be one store to order from, which is ThePonyBusiness, located in the Netherlands and offering a cost efficient shipping option for EU members. Ordering from the UK will just get too expensive in the long run.

I just recently became aware of these ponies and really want to get some of them! There are some really cool ponies in there! Unfortunately I don't have any money to spare at the moment I do hope I'll be able to buy at least a few of them at some point.

I agree that posting pictures of them on Instagram, Tumblr, especially Facebook as so many collectors are on there now would help the project. It sucks to hear that it's hard for the EU pony friends are having a hard time finding them.

Oh man, I didn't know they were in trouble! D: I agree that they're REALLY hard to get a hold of in the UK. I'm desperate to buy so many of them, but when factoring in shipping to the UK, it just gets really pricey and it's been difficult to justify lately. (I'm definitely planning on buying some more soon, though. I did get the mint Kitty Love recently ^^ Couldn't resist her!) I miss when we had an official UK seller for HQG1Cs!

I think our exchange rate is a bit rubbish at the moment which also isn't helping. I'm super keen to support and have bought one or two.

i think there needs to be as much advertising here on the arena. it will get out to more pony peeps that way, and keep plugging it. newbys will find out. there are a lot of collectors out there that aren't on here YET and when they join they will now about hqg1c.
i didn't buy much untill i joined the facebook group. only joining FB because of hqg1c and 35th Anniversary mlp's and now i can't stop buying the darn things LOL
and i never new about the hqg1c FB page untill a fellow pony friend told be about it.
now iv got a fellow friend mlp collector into it. word of mouth is slow and advertising is fast.
i want to see the hqg1c group keep going  

adding to that, exchange rate isn't great here too in NZ but the real killer is the postage. iv been lucky enough to have a friend in the states to help with that i trade ponies for postage.

another thing maybe we could either post here or start another post where people share photos of there hqg1c ponies to tempt fellows collectors it works on me seeing others collections

I have a handful of HQG1C ponies and they're all absolutely beautiful. My only thing is that while I'd love to support the project and buy more, the ponies are very expensive. I 100% understand why but it makes it hard to buy them just to be supportive. I have to really love them and unfortunately not all of the ponies appeal to me.
