@Sora: the article you linked to me explains it better than I can (English not being my first language).

I usually get what people mean by "CalArts style" because it is being thrown around since forever, I just don't agree with that nickname (and the article is on my side regarding this) and therefore like to challenge it

What I dislike about cartoon style trends is that sometimes you feel like one show is from the exact same person as another show.
Like... Danny Phantom, Total Drama Island and Powerpuff Girls are all from different people but they look alike.

My partner took one look and said "...that's Dexter's Laboratory." I'll wait to seriously judge it but I'm not sure what fans they intend on impressing with slice of life, which is a rather common setting for kid shows, especially girl shows. A different array of characters would also be nice.

Then again, I did like MLP Tales, so who knows if I'll like Pony Life.

No, like ogres. Much like ogres in Shrek, ponies from PL are misundrstood, cast out and shamed. Lifesavers understand their freakiness is not their fault but Hasbro's.
As Lifesavers we take in the PL ponies and embrace them instead of writing them off before we have even seen the show.

Of course I'll still not buy any of those. My support will be shallow like most online activism

Ok, call this an absolutely nuclear take, but I've been thinking about these new designs a lot lately and I gotta say, it kinda feels like justice. The nasty side of the "brony fandom" spent so much time totally ripping on G3 and especially 3.5 and now they're basically getting the same cursed treatment. The new toys may not really be my personal taste (except for the eye detail! That's really cute!), but I'd be lying if I said this whole shebang didn't stir up just a little glee in the inner depths of my petty soul.
