Acetone shrinking pony heads?
« on: November 09, 2019, 05:04:02 PM »
Does anyone have experience acetone shrinking hard vinyl pony heads? Such as G4 or 3.5. I plan on acetone shrinking the new ponies with the big heads and I need to compile as much information on it as I can so things go smoothly.

Someone did experiments in this thread if that helps! My only concern for shrinking just the heads would be that the neck seam would be wonky.

Thank you for the link - it seems the effects of acetone can be pretty random on ponies but those are G1 ponies. I imagine G4s would be more stable.

I haven't had any severe issues with acetone except on hard plastic (as opposed to softer g3 pony body plastic), which some of the g4 toys are made of. I've never tried shrinking a head before. If you have an extra baity one, I'd suggest doing a test pony first just to see how it will react in case anything unexpected comes up.
