Crystal Castle Closing?

I thrifted the Crystal Castle yesterday and the mechanism to extend upwards works, but I can't get the iittle castles on the side...tresses...whatever...to close properly. I can see where they're supposed to lock in place but it seems like that spot is loose. Are they supposed to be flapping in the breeze or is there something I'm missing?

 I think they just flap, at least mine did. Its been so long though so mine could of been faulty. Are you having issues closing the whole castle?

I thought that was the whole castle...
Aside from the top. The top is fine and dandy.

I'd check, but... I passed on buying one just a few weeks ago and have been kicking myself ever since. Then again, I have no place to display or store it and would be kicking myself for buying it instead!

I'm not sure exactly which part you're talking about. I have mine on display, so I wouldn't mind checking for you... I remember it was evil to get some of the parts to snap in place. (I rank it right up with the Sequestia castle, which I almost broke trying to snap together in one spot.)

Aside from the top. The top is fine and dandy.

Well I'm talking about the bottom vs. the top. Yeah based off memory the floppy part never closed. But I may have the same issue as you so I could be wrong.

I'm on campus right now, but the bottom part has two towers that flip out. If they've been flappy forever that's fine, it just felt weird carrying it considering it has a handle.

Upon further investigation, its flimsy. Its supposed to close but the design choices weren't that greatest so its not uncommon for it to flap, like mine.

I remember it being like that when I got it for Christmas as a kid, yeah, it's just like that. It's not even an age issue.
