Took a year, but I finally got 'em!
« on: October 12, 2019, 09:41:06 AM »
So, a while back I posted that a friend of mine in New York got in a massive pony donation of G1s, G2's and G3's.

Well, due to international shipping costs being rough on both of us, it took the better part of a year to finally send the first half of the wave. (and boy did i enjoy that fedex invoice... lol)

Here's the G1s and fakies that my friend in NY sent me! Some before n' after shots (though, I didn't take befores for all of them due to just how nasty they were) and tbh, nothing really rare in here, but I love getting ponies so I'm excited anyway! :D

As usual, the images will be in spoiler tags because this post is very picture heavy.

Applejack! I've always wanted a G1 Applejack, she's so cute. c:

Cherries Jubilee about to become pony soup! She had the driest hair of out the entire lot.

Cherries Jubilee after a good soak n' scrub. She looks a lot better now :)

Cotton Candy also before being dunked in the soup.

and now her hair is nice n' shiny again~

My first Peachy out of possibly many more to come. :P

Peachy's tail washer, because she had rustbutt. I managed to get the rust stains out of her tail for the most part.

Snuzzle, who had been stored with a saddle on. :c

Other side to show how nasty she was.

The lighting was kinda bad here, she isn't actually yellow, but now she's all cleaned up aside from her saddle sores.

All 3 of them together c:

Blossom, who I am keeping away from my herd because she was super sticky when I first washed her. It took 3 separate washes with dish liquid to get rid of the stickiness... That, plus she's covered head to toe in pindot/smooze. No amount of hot water and scraping seemed to help.

Glory, who is riddled with age spots inside but only has maybe like.. one light blotch on the outside that the camera didn't pick up. She also has what looks like a rust spot on one side of her symbol, but she's much whiter than my other Glory who has no tail and worn symbols.

Sparkler! I love Sparkler, I'm happy I finally have her back! :D
The spot on her shoulder seems to be an age spot or a stain since it didn't wash off after heavy scrubbing, but one spot does not a bad pony make.

Speedy! I only had to wash her tail to get rid of some frizz, but she was probably one of the two cleanest ponies in the box. I only washed over her with a wet rag. She does have a patch of lighter discolouration across her back, but it's barely noticeable.

Sweet Tooth. She has some frizzy hair. I did my best with it.. ^^;

Parasol was also pretty clean, but I still dunked her because her hair was pretty tangled and nasty.

Tossles is the other pony I didn't have to wash aside from with a wet rag. I've never had a Happy Tails pony before, I had no idea they were so soft and rubbery compared to normal poners!

Sunbeam. Oh sweet Star Catcher, this poor thing...

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I'm gonna have to try and un-bend her horn later, but at least she's clean now.

Sundance. She may look fine, but her previous owner seems to have tried to get her head off and ended up sawing through her plug, so her head just kinda dangles on a hinge of what's left of it. :c

Baby ponies!

Baby Cotton Candy, who has some eye rub and a regrind spot, but her hair is still mostly pink so that's a bonus! Her tail washer wasn't attached (and her head wasn't removed, so i'm sure that's a factory thing?) so I took it out and put it away.

Baby Leaper!
He has a big red ink stain on the back of his neck, but thankfully that can be hidden by his hair... The rest of the red stuff washed off with a wet paper towel. He does have a few other little spots of ink on his legs, but they're tiny. He came with that G4 Applejack hat on him, which I think is adorable. Yee haw, little pardner.

Baby Stockings, who has the cutest face I've ever seen. That is a face that could get away with murder.

Baby Fifi and her baby fakie army.

Oh my God, Fifi and these fakies had the NASTIEST, STICKIEST INSIDES I'VE EVER FELT!!!
It took me 2 soaks, and 10 hours of scrubbing their insides (the inside of the heads were super difficult..) with wet AND dry paper towels to get rid of the stickiness! Fifi also had a dark film on her outside. Like, she was almost black from all the dirt coating her.

A drawing of my grail, Ice Crystal. This is as close as I'll probaby ever get to owning one. PFFT!

The box. I am keeping this box. It's a nice box.

Also, shoutout to mewthemew for sending me this bunch of fakies!

I call the yellow and purple G3 fakies Trebella and Herabella. They're sisters.
Big pink fakie is named Eyes because she has big scary eyes.
White fakie is Copybrite
and the big blue fakie in the picture below is named Nosebleed because her painted in nostrils make her look like she has a nosebleed.

Not pictured because I'm lazy: A G1 pony shirt and a Loyal Subjects Sundance. She sent me a blind box as a surprise. Those things are bigger and heftier than I thought they would be! I also forgot to take an individual picture of Baby Quackers. Oops.

TL;DR:

All the G1s except for 35th Minty, Bride, Starshine, the leftmost Glory, Gusty and High Flyer were in the box. They were disgusting and had extremely dry, frizzy, tangled hair. Now they're awesome except for Blossom (heh.) and Fifi was still drying when I took this pic so she's not in there.

The end. :drunk:
I don't get to buy ponies often, but I cherish them when I do :lovey:

They really are. I'd have like no ponies if it weren't for them. Our thrift shops are garbage!

I'm glad that you found them amusing! I love it when people get a chuckle out of me being a big dork, haha :D
