Stolen pictures on listing, realizing after purchase
« on: October 07, 2019, 05:42:57 AM »
Not exactly the best way to get back into collecting ...

If you bought a relatively expensive pony from an Etsy seller with no feedback (not that I would be that naive, not me) and then realized that the picture had been swiped from a finished eBay listing, as had all of their other listings (including a sold Rapunzel), what would be your first course of action? Immediately calling it off or contacting the seller about it? I hate confrontation so my first gut reaction is "just wait it out and if it doesn't arrive or doesn't come as described then you can raise hell" but I doubt that's in my best interest given that the seller is from Russia and it will probably take eons to get here. Also people shouldn't steal photos (and then put their own signature on them...).

Optimistically I hope that they actually have these ponies and are just too lazy to take their own pictures. Worst case scenario they're trying to scam people for a quick buck.

I'd personally contact etsy customer support and call up your bank/contact Paypal to inform them to cancel the money transfer.

If the seller raises hell, say it's your right and block/report their ass.

Plus, as a new ebay seller, all of my sales have the money held by eBay themselves but I'm not too sure about Etsy.
