Restoration Issues
« on: September 14, 2019, 10:35:20 PM »
Howdy, this is my first time restoring anything and I've run into a few questions ;; any help would be greatly appreciated

The most problematic of the three I'm restoring is this Gusty, this is what her body looks like after a toothbrush + dawn scrub, magic erased, and both rubbing alcohol and nail polish remover rubbed on these highlighter like areas.

she has several hot pink dots, the worst of which being her hoof. Is there any method to help her here, I'm a bit stuck.

I'm also having a similar problem on this Moonstone and Wisteria

I tried all the same methods as I had on Gusty and nothing seems to be alleviating these marks.

Any advice?

I've never tried it myself, but I've seen how well sunfading has worked for some people. Be warned though, there are some ponies that aren't safe to sunfade, as their vinyl burns and discolours instead.

[EDIT] definitely do not use peroxide cream. turns out It's ingredients can remain active and bleach a ponys vinyl even years after its washed off.

If you haven't done so already, you should check out the my little pony restoration project website for more information. Good luck!

NEVER USE ACNE CREAM.  there are cases when peroxide cream can work but be careful and definitely do not use acne cream....

Sunfading works awesome for g1s. Just make sure to cover the eyes/symbols/hair.

Don't sunfade g3s though!

You can wrap it in paper towel first if you are worried.
