best way of getting rid of bling bag ponies?
« on: August 12, 2019, 02:24:31 PM »
...kind of sounds horrible but I ended up wanting only a little of the blind bags I have and the rest are sitting in a jurassic park lunch box and a mlp lunch box XD i have some others that re just shoved in a drawer with all the g4s i picked up. i'm kind of just tempted to box them all up and send then down to the second hand store we have here and let them deal with the massive hoard of repeats.

Make them into necklaces! It's so easy, all you do is use a pushpin to make a hole in the top of the head, get what they call eye-pins, (jewelry sections will have them at most stores) and a pair of wire-cutters. Cut the eye pins down to the length you want, put the pins in the hole, add a drop of superglue on top and you're done! Sell them to your friends! Give them as gifts! Get a table at a craft fair or comic con!

I second jewelry. Earrings (especially funny when you make studs, one pony half is the front and one ist he back), necklaces, even rings (rearing pony from the waist up looks cool as a ring). I've seen so much geeky jewelry like that.

Or just give them to a child ^.^

If you use a push pin to drill a hole in their backs and then put little eye pins in their backs, you can use them as teeny little Christmas tree ornaments-

You can get one of those tiny little Christmas trees they now sell everywhere and have a little tree for your ponies all decorated with ponies :D

I've sold them in lots before on eBay.  Some I've sold singly for like $2, if it's a popular but rarer character (like Apple Bloom or Gilda) or a boy pony.

Some people like to customize them. They're fun, and a bit challenging!

I took my favorite ever blind bag and put a little eye screw in her head and carry her around on my car key lanyard. Keychains and such are a good idea if it's a common character but one of your favorites.
I've seen them used in decoden phone cases, they're quite cute! Although the cases are less practical than many other options and pretty bulky.  :P

I would give them out at Halloween. Candy is good and all but all the kids would rather have a toy.

I recommend customising them, it's very fun and a good way of practising.
Freebies for buyers and halloween are also good ideas.

Or put them in a custom snowglobe.

Customs are definitely an idea. Several years ago I went out and bought some blind bags for the sole purpose of repainting them into a G1 set:

Lonewolf those are gorgeous!  I had the same idea and have like 50 in various stages of completion kicking around my art room.

They make really cute customs. I have a custom G1 Twilight the unicorn blind bag also. :)
