This may seem a stupid question, but...(G4)...
« on: November 29, 2019, 07:28:11 AM »
Recently I had an opportunity to get the two Hippogriff babies MOC for a decent price here in the UK, so no international shipping costs (actually free shipping). They never did show up here in the UK, so it was a welcome surprise to see them so cheap and I bought them hoping for the best.

They arrived safely, just as described, but (and I remember this coming up in discussion before), both have the same name on the card.

The cards are different - it's not like one pony is on the wrong card, as the art on the back is different and matches the pony sealed on the front (don't have pictures at the moment, probably can take them if needed).

BUT both cards are printed at the front with the name "Flutter Cloud."

So my question is, which one is officially, actually Flutter Cloud and which one is Flash Feather?

Because my collection spreadsheet would like to know...I can't really file them both under the same name!

I love the baby hippogriffs. :lovey: Flutter Cloud is the purple one. I’ve heard there’s a lot of card errors with the baby hippogriffs.

I was wondering this too, nice to have it answered :) I do wonder why they made both cards with the same name... printing error that didn't get caught in time? I mean, we've all seen miscarded ponies before but this isn't exactly the same.

Yeah, a miscarded pony I could make sense of but the fact that the back of the card has the correct art for the pony sealed on it yet the front is misprinted on one of them...

I assume this is pretty common for this set but I am curious to know if there are, or have been found correctly named ones as well (or Flutter Clouds labelled as Flash Flutter)?

I checked my baby hippogriffs and they are named/carded correctly. I think mine came from New Zealand.

Mine are named and carded correctly too, but I can't remember where they're from.  They are adorable, I love their little toes. <3

Then we probably need to file this under "things Hasbro do that make no sense whatsoever"...

Because we probably won't ever figure out why.

My set (miscarded) came from eBay, can't remember what country but I have a feeling they were from the UK too. So I wonder if we just got a bad batch or something.

Seems likely. Maybe even withdrawn as seconds? Like there were those batches of miscarded TEs on Sea Pony cards that turned up in Germany years ago. True, this is a bit different as the card is not the wrong card exactly...but you have to wonder...

Yeah, I could definitely see them being factory seconds, especially since they seem to have only turned up fairly recently.

Has anyone found one of the miscarded ones in a physical shop or are they just turning up online?

Mine are correctly carded. They’re showing up now in dollar stores here in Canada.
