A funny thought about G5

I was gonna add this to my last thread but I thought it was really good so... what do you think is the probability that G5 will be leaked before it's formally revealed? I mean, it already kind of has, but with the toys? With G4s, all the time, you see listings on Aliexpress and Taobao months and months and months ahead of time before the toys are even listed for preorder on Amazon (that set with Minty afaik still isn't listed, yet Minty herself has been on eBay for awhile, I even bought one).

Maybe they'll be extremely strict on the matter, so that nothing gets posted too early, but...?

I guess they could show off illustrations ahead of time, like "Yes! G5 is here! Rejoice! Stay tuned for more news!", but in this hypothetical situation, we only have the artwork, and not the toys. So Hasbro would have to show off the toys as soon as possible before anyone lists it on eBay...

Ultimately I think Hasbro will show everything off before anyone else gets to, but I still keep thinking "what if", and the possibility is just too funny for me. But also kind of sad.

I'm trying to think.. what toy lines that are NEW have been spoiled by taobao/China/thieves?

Kinda interesting too, that BF's stuff doesn't get sold by others... Or do they?

I think they will try to hype it up when the time comes... Do we even know a year for potential g5?

Good question, I hope hasbro releases them first, so we wont get weird expectations from aliexpress.

hmmm, interesting thought... I wouldn't be surprised if they did get leaked somehow. Leaks are so common in everything these days, unfortunately I miss the good ol' days when it was easier to keep things under wraps, easier to surprise people with stuff.. anyway. Hopefully they'll be able to keep at least most of this stuff from getting out ahead of time.

There is this conspiracy theory that Hasbro leaked the e-mails and early concept arts on purpose but honestly I think they did not (the half-finished episodes leaked along with the G5 info negate that theory completely) and are now guarding the G5 material.

Since it's gonna release sometime in 2020 and G4 is still doing the musical and selling the excess stock I think we might see Aliexpress and Taobao stuff just about release date. It's been that way with Equestria Girls when it first debuted (and caused a huge stir, so I am looking forward to that drama and hope it's just as juicy My tear mug is ready!)
