Finally my long wait for Medley and Glory in the UK is over...

This morning I found the unipeg retro set in one of the localish Toymaster stores reachable by bus from where I live.

I've been waiting for this set (quite literally) since 1985-6, when I first really fell in love with Glory and Medley in the comics and yet they never were sold here. Especially Medley.

I did find a Glory here once at a carboot sale in the nineties, and she's a very precious part of my collection, but never. Ever. Medley.

Now for the first time in more than 30 years I've been able to buy them both in a store here in the UK!

So exciting

They had five of the six. I bought the four I needed plus Moondancer for my sister. Still need to track down Twilight but I don't mind if I have to get her online.  Cue bad pic from phone:

There will be some deboxing and pony grooming this afternoon....

The timing of this is also perfect. Yesterday I had confirmation that my thesis corrections had been accepted by my examiner. That basically means I've passed my PhD (although I still have to bind it and submit it formally to the Doctoral School before they confirm it).

Yesterday evening I was talking to my sister and saying how I'd like to find Medley and co as my reward to myself for the last four years hard work...

Today I found Medley and friends

UK people - go to your local Toymaster and keep going if you don't have luck the first time. They're £9.99.

I've been checking a few I can get to by bus from here in the last few weeks but this is the first time I've found them in one.

(And I almost didn't get there as the buses were really messed up today in that direction...)

Let's just say that two little pegasus ponies are currently exploring my room.

The unicorns are going to wait a while - Glory may stay in the box for good, as I want to keep one from each set in package. Sunbeam I may take out over the weekend.

I think they are just coming out here so I don't see why not. There are still some stores here with collector ponies too (albeit they got them in really late compared to JL and such).

Pinwheel and Starflower might have shown up then as well. It's promising that Pinwheel has a placemarker on Amazon UK, even if she's not properly in stock yet.
