I don't remember seeing these before. I assume they were made during the g2 era like the keychains due to the tag. (Maybe like the japanese keychains??)

I see another one sold (cotton candy), it's tag is Japanese

I figured maybe it would be useful for the wiki or somewhere else if someone keeps track of this stuff.


Also where did these coasters come from? (2003)

The tins are dated 2003, so I am guessing they were part of the wave of merch that came out around then. I have a tshirt from then still that has lofty and sundance on it and it's dated around the same time. Those are mostly art things from US fliers or cards so I'd guess they were probably produced for the market over there...I haven't seen them here I don't think? More than that I don't know specifically.

I haven't seen those plushes before. How weirdly cute. I think with the g2 tags they must be from the same kind of time frame as the keychains but I've never seen them come up on yahoo.jp...not that that means anything particularly. It's interesting that it's Blossom, Bow Tie and Cotton Candy - it's not the collector set but the y2 earthies. I wonder if the others also exist or if it's just those three.

Yeah I found them on mercari, but it's not like mercari doesn't have stuff from all over.

I remember some of that stuff at hot topic.. like I know the address book and the lil paper pad is from that. There was stuff with more graphic art like the cupcake and applejack stuff (candy tins, patches, shirts, bobble heads... ). So my head immediately went there. But I figured it could of been from somewhere else too!

I don't think very often..
 I haven't really looked too much for pony stuff in the past couple years.. it's annoying to look through the sea of g4 stuff. Although admittedly there's a lot of retro stuff I see every now and then that I like.

And searching on mercari is newer for me. (Basically I'm scouring because I'm gonna make a big purchase, so I wanna add more things for my order, lol). But I see 4 listings for these plush ponies today (1 active). And 6 listings for the plastic keychains (1 active). so what does that say, lol..

I have the bow tie keyring! I bought her with the taf baby keyrings, merry treat phone strap, and baby stockings keyring from a seller on Japan in the early 2000s! I also have that coaster set which I got at KB toys with a metal lunch box when the first retro rainbows cane out!

There were also small round tins of hard candy that had G1 ponies on them.  I don't remember the exact year, but I thought it was during the G2 era (as in, the US G2 era) but maybe they were later.  I bought them in Hot Topic.  Off the top of my head, there was a Cupcake tin, a Bow-Tie tin (but she was in the sitting pose), and a flutter pony tin which IIRC featured Morning Glory.
