is under wear supposed to be odd? We also had bras and panties in the states. But no surprise Japan has more cute character underwear and they do it more maturely.

That said what I do find odd is it's g4 and not retro. Japan merch tended to skew more retro

I guess what it tells us most is target audience - ie it's fine to be targeting adult females as fans of MLP by using these kinds of themes and ideas in their product. Since MLP as a kids show has stopped in Japan (and when I was over there I only saw Pez and plushes in the MLP sense) that kind of is logical. It's more a fashion item than a kids toy line.

Slightly off topic but as regards quality...

Most Japanese stuff in my experience is well made, albeit they can be expensive. Mind you, even in their 100yen stores the things are much better qualitywise than the cheap tat we get in UK £ stores. (And the 100yen stores don't smell of hamster feed which is an added bonus...)
