Opinions on this Seashell - Faded/Discoloured?
« on: June 13, 2019, 04:15:06 PM »
Not my pony, not my pic - just wondering whether this oddity is worth purchasing or if she's just a ratty bait lol. She's interesting, I wouldn't mind adding her to my collection after a trip to the spa.
Cheers  ^.^

Wow that's super weird.
I've never seen one like that where it faded so oddly. Then, why is the head hair different from the tail hair? Could it be a Bubbles head on there? But then, it'd be a very gnarly Bubbles to get the head that color odd that it match the body. The symbols really do look authentic though...(so, someone didn't make a funky Bubbles) Is she a dollar bait or something?
I'd pick her up if she was, just for the novelty of it. It looks like the hair would be fixable with some elbow grease and maybe the spots sunfaded. It would be interesting to pull the head off and have a peek inside. If she was free of cancer it might be an ok idea for a variant to keep around.
Certainly, I'm glad you posted it because she is interesting to see.

That’s so cool! I personally would purchase her because it might be a fun restiration or just cool irregular pony!  :)

It's almost like a bubbles/seashell fusion! Very neat, but I couldn't say what's up with her.

yeah i thought i was looking a bubbles for a spit second, wow poor girl looks like she has been sitting by the sea for years and swimming in it too. :P
i had a similar one years back that was a taurpe colour when i got her, i tried fading her to a almost pale grey dirty white colour then decided to customize her, i turned her into a goth pony with black hair and a grey streak
it really suited her skin tone

I have one that was dirty and when I cleaned her the purple washed off. She's grayish now.

Bubbleshell???

She's super cool, definitely worth the purchase. Especially since she's Seashell.

Update: I have purchased her. When she arrives I'll be happy to share more pics of her. ^.^
Even if she's just a manky bait she'll be welcomed into my herd. I haven't bought a G1 in years it feels lol.

She does look kind of funky but that kind of damage isn't that uncommon. I've seen Seashells that body tone and with blue mane and green-blue tails from sundamage (like sitting in a window or outside play) and here the sun isn't anywhere near as bad as in other places. The hair in the mane is less densely packed together so it seems to be more likely to fade than the tail even in the same environment - or the head is facing the window, which is another possibility. I've seen the green fade on other ponies - Magic Star is one - as well in a similar way (although MS doesn't have the same propensity to body fading).

She does look very much more sea themed like that tho...

She's arrived and has been welcomed into my herd as a beautiful bait. Original hair (what's left of her mane is so silky!), faded and discoloured but not stinky.

To be honest I've never liked Seashell's lilac body, so this 'Seasick Seashell' is actually more to my liking lol
She's my first G1 in years, what a funny pony to have caught my eye :P
