Furniture help?
« on: May 26, 2019, 05:08:05 AM »
Hi friends!

I've realized that G1 pony furniture will be very hard to acquire and I'd like to make their surroundings nicer, so what other brands of toy furniture would fit with G1 ponies? I know Barbie would be the most common answer, although most of them they couldn't fit in.

Thank you.

MLP are an odd size and a little bigger than Sylvanian Families which I know is a good match for G4.However,  G1 furniture isn't that hard to find I don't think, except the Paradise Estate stuff. You could look for the show stable bed, the Dream Castle throne and table or the Lullabye Nursery chest of drawers for example. I think it's fairly easy to get the furniture because the buildings often break, so there is probably a lot more furniture around than full playsets around.

Show Stable stuff is painfully common.

Large pieces from most pony playsets is pretty easy to find, the earliest playsets being the most common.  Pony furniture tends to be pretty sturdy, and large enough not to get lost easily.  It’s the wee things that are hard to find(like the PE silverware), and anything from a set that was never sold in the USA.  And of course they made 3 furniture only sets(bed, tub, crib) which aren’t too hard to find or expensive if you’re not after a complete set.

If you’re looking for cheap furniture, ask around for anything from the Show Stable, Dream Castle, or Lullaby Nursery.  Most accessory collectors have a pile of stuff from of those playsets(the pieces show up in lots all the time), and they’ll be happy to get rid of it cheap.  I know I do!   I’m too busy right now to do any trades or sales unfortunately.

To be fair, it's much easier to find kitchen accessories here than it is anything from Satin Slipper that wasn't sold here. The OP is Australian so it's not totally clear what playsets were easily available there...

I have almost a whole set of duplicate Kitchen pieces in my trade box still. It's all relative really.

only some sylvanian families stuff will work, mostly for babies tho.

However, there is a youtube channel called myfroggystuff that has great doll diy furniture and such. You can just adjust the size for your ponies :)
