Gingerbread Dream Castle?

So I've been watching a lot of Anne Reardon's YouTube channel, "How to Cook That" (had it playing in the background at work today actually), and for a short time the autoplay went through the various gingerbread houses she's made over the years. One item that caught my attention was they now have molds to use to bake the walls of a gingerbread house. And the idea popped into my head to see if I could make a gingerbread Dream Castle.

Now I did check my mold making supplier's web site, and they do have food-grade molding materials that can go into the oven to bake cookies or a cake or something similar, so this is possible to do. I'd probably wind up with the tower tops being molded for chocolate instead of gingerbread, simply to cut down on the weight, though. The turrets may have to be done as two halves, simply due to oven height restrictions; I don't know yet.

What I'm wondering is, would you all like to see WIP pictures or for me to record video of the progress while I try to do this? I'm asking now because this way I have a few months to work this through.  

Update: My gingerbread Dream Castle project is going to happen! I'll post updates as I can (we're using instagram for photo hosting, right?), and we'll see how this chugs along!

I was thinking in terms of using some colored white chocolate in the mold to finish the walls, yes.

All right! Sounds like this project is go! I'll buy a smaller quantity of the molding compound first to see how this pans out for the first few pieces, and go from there!

Okay, I think I’m going to be making the turret tops out of solid chocolate instead of gingerbread, as it makes some of the molds easier, and won’t be quite so heavy (I assume gingerbread houses are heavy, anyway). Also it allows me an excuse to buy some of the microwaveable molding compound I have bookmarked; you can’t use it for baking, but you can use it to mold chocolate.

My first step of course is going to be unpacking a Dream Castle, and I’m pretty sure I’ve only the one, though I have multiple turret tops. Then I’ll have to wash it really well, and determine how I’m going to mold the pieces. Should be able to get it out and evaluated in the next week or so, but I am currently laid up with a broken foot, so I’m a bit slower than I’d like right now.
