FiM: S9 E10 Random Apple Family Episode Thing

I honestly can't remember the name of this episode, and I don't care.  Apple Family does apple things, and that's about it.

Anyway, discuss.

The episode title is "Going to Seed".

And it was alright. Had some cute sister moments with them trying to catch what I see as the leprechaun of Equestria.
Applejack not believing in the Great Seedling kinda reminded of that scene in Legend of Everfree (the fourth EqG movie) where Applejack claims there's no such thing as Gaia Everfree. Like, really, how would any of these mythical beings be even remotely considered implausible in this world? However, there is at least an explanation as to why she stopped believing. That flashback was actually pretty nice (and no, I'm not saying that just because the apple parents haven't been forgotten about entirely).
I felt bad for Big Mac (again). I get that he wants to work harder for the farm, but it also feels like his family is putting all of this on him.

Overall, not a very memorable episode, but it has its sweetness.
They: You're too old to watch that show!
Me: Can't hear ya, I'm asleep.

I spent the first half of the episode wondering why Sugar Belle didn’t make an appearance to help.

I haven’t had a lot of strong feelings for recent episodes one way or another.

I did like the flashback.  It was nice seeing the entire family all together.

At first I thought, another applesode we don’t need.

So I watched it. (Spoilers from here)

First I felt bad for Applejack cause auntie goldie was hyping up this ‘great seedling’ story for Applebloom. Its kinda like a catching santa thing. Then I felt bad for big Mac cause aj also got way into the catching.
It just seems silly wasting time on a story when there work and invoer are at Drake.

(Spoilers end here)

The lore of the seedling is fasinating and it looks beautiful. I really dislike the plot tho. I made Apple pie with better filling then this episode.

I kinda hoped it would be about an applecon or something, kinda like comic con. The title made me think they would actually go sonewhere.

I won’t watch again. Maybe for the lore idk.

Spoiler
The carrots at the end seemed totally out of nowhere. Sweet Apple Acres isn't exactly known for having carrots o so did Angel bring over a stockpile and drop them off? Thought Big Mac was clearly the one behind the traps but I guess no one remembered the disaster that unfolded when Applejack was too tired to buck trees.

You're forgetting this is the Apple Family.  They not only never learn anything, but are proud of it.

Seems to have rubbed off on the rest of the Mane Six.

Kind of a meh episode. I gave it 5/10. Poor Big Mac got short changed in the episode. XD
What amused me the most was The Great Seedling, AKA a dryad:

Legends of Equestria has had "Apple Dryads" in the game since it's creation. They attack you by sprouting a small apple tree under or beside you:

This thread is already catty so I'll just say this episode was fun in a way that Applejack essentially started to believe in Santa and tried to catch him building cookie-and-milk traps. She is a bit simple-minded at times. Comes from all the applebucking, ok?  :P I thought she was cute.

She was probably at her own workplace baking cakes. She needs to pay her bills somehow, no time for apple shenanigans

I agree.  The Seedling is pretty cool.  I’d like to see one for every season.

I thought this was a really sweet and enjoyable episode. It was nice to see Applejack and Applebloom bonding, and it was especially nice to see Applejack relax and have some fun! :P Poor Big Macintosh though, he couldn't catch a break. His facial expressions had me dying despite his suffering! There was definitely some great storyboard work going on in the background for this one.

I especially adored the Great Seedling though! His design was so well done and his myth fits in so well with the established world of this generations. I wish we could have seen more of their magical, "Santa" like creatures! I appreciate that the episode left it open to interpretation as to weather or not he was real, because I so badly do want him to be real! :P
