I'm so excited to be making this post!
I go by June and I'm in my early 20s, and my very very first interactions with the internet had to do with ponies. I received my first pony (g3 pinkie pie) in the early 2000s and was hooked. I loved visiting Hasbro's official website to play flash games, but soon grew bored and looked beyond that to fan websites. I was all about g3, but g1 stuff was more popular at the time. At first I was annoyed, but then I fell in love.
I never got my hands on a real g1 pony as a kid; my parents didn't really understand it, and I wasn't allowed to ask to buy things online. I also wasn't allowed to make an account on any websites so I haunted the popular pony websites like some kind of pony-loving ghost. (Oof, I just remembered web rings, that's some nostalgia right there.)
I sort of dropped out of pony stuff for a while, because I thought I was getting too old for it. I gave away my moderate collection of g3s and tried to move on to more "mature" things. This was probably one of the worst decisions I've ever made haha.
I am so so glad, though, that nerd culture and just generally doing what you love are becoming mainstream, because it's honestly so freeing. In high school and college I got into animation and D&D: the stars aligned so that when I saw a TAF Dancing Butterflies in a thrift store I took the right path and bought her, resparking my love of ponies which had never really died.
As I mentioned above, I collect mostly g1 and g3, but I have a couple g2 and g4 things in my hoard. I am currently completing my undergraduate degree in physics on the west coast of the United States.
I'm very excited to interact with all of you!
