Collectors fair and charity shops!
« on: May 19, 2019, 05:39:49 AM »
Hi friends!

To preface, I had gained some weight and had been eating poorly so I'm like I might as well go do something, there turned out to be a collectors fair so I took the 40 min bus ride to the city then the 30 min train to a harbour district place. I went to the collectors fair and only 1 person was selling toys, the rest were coins and porcelain figures so I bought 2 small bags. Then I headed off to a road where there's a bunch of charity shops and at the biggest one was an interesting jackpot. Also some stuff needs Id'ing and most things are up for sale.

Here's what was in the two small bags

LPS suitcase or musical instrument thing?

Hasbro dresser thing, I think 2007 or 2009. Probably a G3.5 Ponyville thing.

Sorry it's blurry but I think it's a music sheet stand thing.

Looks like you can start practicing your kana and kanji then! Unless it's a blank page book ;) There are some awesome designs of those, they put such random things on the covers (I brought one back from Japan for my Dad that was illustrated with kabuki masks because he's all into that stuff).

If they came from the same place as the HK then they might have come over from Japan too I guess??

Congrats on the finds :D Seems like you did quite well :D

Thank you! Yes, the precure book is completely blank and although I'm not into precure (I do plan to get into it, because the aesthetic) I bought some Hello Kitty ones for my first year at uni and I haven't used up a whole book yet. And there was more Japanese stuff, primarily toys I didn't know/care about, some knick knacks and even some Russian kids books (From what I can recall)

Interesting, I can only guess they're supposed to be a stacking toy.

Ah, thank you and congrats.

It's not one I'm familiar with, though the lettering on the Aikatsu reminded me of the Angelique logo a little bit.

Awesome finds! You did awesome! Love the lps poodle especially!

The mouse is a Polly pocket pet and the bunny is a kinder toy from 2007/8 ish? They did another set in different colours a few years back, but this one is from the original set I believe  ^.^

May I ask about the prototype carriage you saw? I’m intrigued!

Thank you, I'll look for it to verify it.

Ah, the prototype carriage.

I was alerted to a vintage fair via Facebook that there was a vintage/collectors fair at the local showgrounds a day before it started, Friday, but I couldn't go on Saturday because I had chores and uni work to do. I ended up going on Sunday, the last day.

About halfway through the stalls, I see a bright table with LPS and other things, so I inspected it and the seller said that a big zip seal bag was the only MLP stuff left. Everything was 3.5 Ponyville + regular g3.5 pony stuff, except the prototype carriage. I'm like "That's interesting, a prototype winter carriage."

I debated buying it but I ended up not, now I'm regretting that. I think the seller knew it was a prototype or at least sought after so they put it with only G3.5 to try to sell them off.
