Regarding hard or soft...I think my mountain boys as a kid were harder plastic than the family ponies as two of them ended up with hoof cracks...

Admittedly the cause of those is unknown...possibly tridden on? But it suggests the plastic didn't give.

Out of the Daddy ponies I’ve got my Daddy Bright Bouquet (who’s my Slugger) is harder than my bait Daddy Apple Delight boys (who are going to be different b it ponies I can’t get) I wonder if the air brush paint a seal will make them hard?

A mother pony can be protective of her young just like dogs.

Who wants to changed this sig into ponies?

I've noticed it before when I was organizing my ponies and put all the brothers/daddies together.
This picture is a bit old but this is the comparison with Spanish Tex next to NC Daddies and Barnacle.

I too have had to go and check my "Daddy" ponies against the other boys and yes there is a noticeable size difference!  I've never noticed that in over 30 years lol   :dropjaw:

i know right, 20+ years collecting as an adult and only just notice.. oh my goodness me :P

Wow! I had Daddy Sweet Celebrations when I was a child, and I do remember thinking how huge he was... Then again, that was compared to all the female ponies as I didn't have any other big boys, so that's no proof of anything.

Also, I automatically read the topic title in Blanche Devereaux's voice and accent (she called her father Big Daddy). :P

LOL yes i can just imagine her saying it now

I have a Daddy Bright Bouquet (Hong Kong) and he is definitely bigger than my Steamer haha! Such a fun detail, I've never noticed this before.

Also he's extremely squishy, unlike my Steamer and my sister's Salty, who are both hard as rocks. When I got him I must admit that I spent a couple minutes just squishing his legs because, having only had Steamer and Salty for reference, I'd never seen a male G1 with such soft plastic before.

so iv just notice after giving the boys a bit of a squeeze, only 3 out of the bro are hard as a rock,
Quarterback, salty and trucker are like daddy bright bouquet and the hard ones are tex who is from the uk and steamer and slugger who both have really bad regrind like alot of hard body ponies that came out later, im guessing they did a second wave of these bro's just like they did with the rainbow ponies and i found that the ponies with really squeeshy ponies were prone to brown age spots.

all of my boys are Honk Kong BTW

O.o.
Now I want to go line up all my boys and measure them and they're four hours away :'(

Me too, and mine are 23 hours away!

What I remember from my childhood is that Spanish Tex (Chief's pose) was significantly shorter than Daddy Sweet Celebrations.
