Ponies I got today!

Hi friends!

Today I went to a vintage shop an hour and a bit away.

I got Sweet Suds, TAF Buttons, Raincurl and Strawberry Scoops.

Sweet Suds is the worst, Missing tail, cut mane, rubbed eye paint, glue is gone and her head rotates. Going to look into restoring her.

Next is Strawberry Scoops, she's in pretty good condition.

Now one I really wanted, is Miss Raincurl! She's in pretty good condition, just some highlighter marks.

Then Buttons! She's got tail rust, a tiny smudge on one of her marks, her inner ears have been coloured in, she's got pen on her horn and one hoof but those are fixable.

Now onto the ponies that came in the mail!

This is Baby Jangles! I got her off eBay, she's in pretty good condition. Only a minor hair defect and a mark or two. She's missing her twin though (At least Bootsie isn't alone in missing her twin now)

And this is Baby Pineapple! She's in near mint condition! No marks on her body but her hair is braided and dry!

Wow, what gorgeous girls you got! Finding G1s in the wild is so much fun! Buttons looks like she'll clean up nicely, and for Baby Pineapple, I'll bet you can fix up that dry hair in no time and she'll be even lovelier <3 Congrats on all your new additions!

Thank you! I've unbraided Pineapple's hair and I'll condition it, comb it then dunk it in hot tap water to see if that helps.

I'm still working on Raincurl, her hairs a mess but I don't want to chop it off.

Buttons cleaned up really well, straightened her hair to reduce the frizz but I've still got to try nail polish remover on her hoof to see if it reacts badly.

And with Strawberry Scoops, she's either the most cared for pony or least played with because she's got no marks, her hair was easy-ish to tame (it's a different story when the conditioner was washed out)

I think if you're really patient with Rainbow Cloud/Raincurl's hair then you can probably make it look decent and maybe even recurl it. Probably a lot of careful combing in small sections though. I had the same situation with a Candy Cane last summer and though I don't use heat or any chemical stuff on my ponies, I managed to carefully prise the knots and tangles out and she curled up really nicely. You would never know how abused she looked before.

Rainbow Curl ponies are pretty But the hair gets messy so easily. Why do kids like braiding ringlets? Seriously?

Nice 'in the wild' finds   I'm sure Sweet Suds will love her new look when you restore her.  Your babies are very cute - Baby Pineapple is such pretty colours.  A dunk under a really hot tap should sort out the kinks in her tail.

Thank you, I've combed her hair, put conditioner in overnight then washed it out under hot tap water. I'll brush it then continue until it's straight.

I combed through her hair with conditioner several times, put her hair under hot tap water, quite literally rinse and repeat. I eventually left conditioner in her hair over night then was for most of the day and I finally washed it out, it left her hair super soft. It was still a mess but that's an improvement.

I combed a coloured section till all the knots where out (the hair was still a frizzy mess) then put in more conditioner, then used my straightener. I continued for each coloured section and I finally finished her mane. Only the ends were frizzy, so I'll try the dunk n boil method later.

I went there specifically for the ponies, I was actually recommended a vintage shop by Facebook (They're actually recommending stuff I use now, after 7+ years of collecting my data) and I asked if they had any My Little Ponies, they said yeah they had a whole bag and I'm like :0!!! Then the Lady told me a 70 year old lady brought them in the other day and I asked if I could get a description of them, I think she ended up setting them up and giving me a pic where I saw G1s and I'm like :0!!!! Then I realized how I would get there but I researched and there was a bus stop infront of their stop. So I asked if she could reserve them and she did, I went there on friday and got them!

Update: Strawberry Scoops and Raincurl's hair have become almost entirely straight, only the ends are still frizzy. Will show pics soon.
