To me Sonic is animated/CGI terribly. Sonic in Disney's Wreck it Ralph looked 100s times more like Sonic than this does. That scene where Sonic pretends to be a cat and Jim Carey shots him with the tranquilizer dart looks so off to me.   I'd spent many happy hours playing Sonic games but this movie is a big no for me.

Bwahahaha! I saw that and it looks like a hilariously stupid trainwreck! X'D  I desperately wish to know what those people were on, and how much they took, when they made this thing.

I don't see it doing any better or worse then movies like The Chipmunks or Garfield, seeing how its in the same, generic, vein. Paint-by-the-numbers and all that.

I also refuse to spend money on it. Maybe one day I'll watch it when its on tv and I'm bored.

Awful character design. While I don't expect a 1:1 character ratio (although the Pokemon movie shows that can work), I did expect something more in lines what I've seen anthro characters look like.

I'm not cool with human legs on Sonic.

I also have a problem with them casting Jim Carrey. Because whenever he plays a pre-established character, it is drowned out by Jim Carrey.

For example, when Patrick Stewart is put into roles, he becomes them. He is Professor Xavier.

When Robin Williams was Pop-Eye, he became Pop-Eye.

That's what acting is about, becoming the character while putting a bit of your own spin on it.

When I look at him, I don't see Dr. Robotnik. I just see Jim Carrey in goggles and a fake mustache.

They've created quite an abomination, and I just really can't understand why. They kept Sonic quite cartoony, but they didn't make an accurate design at all, which I just don't understand why if they were going to keep him cartoony. This just isn't the design of Sonic. It's like some cheap knock-off version. It reminds me of CD-i Zelda versus real Zelda.

My friend sent me the trailer on our group chat yesterday, I'm not going to lie but I actually had to pause the trailer halfway through and  Google the cast because I couldn't tell who Jim Carrey was supposed to be, I thought he was playing a whole new villain To be honest if they had animated both Dr Eggman and Sonic (including the rest of the sonic cast if they're in) it'd make more sense since they are from the same game universe and they're supposed to be cartoony, I don't think they translate well as what ever CGI realistic approach they're supposed to be . Actually no scrap that, if sonic is animated as he is I don't want to imagine what Robotnik would look like I don't have a problem with Jim Carrey but I don't think he suits the role as Robotnik, yes he has the mustache and goggles but nothing else that actually represents who he is supposed to be.
If they animated it like they did in Wreck it Ralph, Sonic CD/Mania or even Sonic Boom I might of thought to go and see it, but after watching that trailer...yikes, his legs...oh man they disturb me so much. I grew up with Sonic Adventure, SA 2 Battle, Heroes and Sonic 3D blast and it kinda of disappoints me to see what was part of most of our childhoods/adulthoods has been turned into... nightmare fuel

Why do they keep making these cartoon/game franchises into these shoddy "CGI characters in the real world" movies? Can't they just make entirely CGI movies like Sonic in a world of the games not the real human world. Why does there have to be some random human protagonist and plotline? And can't the designs be good?
