Pony head count- can you do it?

Last night I got this idea while looking at my checklist via MLPMerch (how many of you also use that btw for your checklist and wishlist? I'm nosy about other peoples'.)- because it adds up how many ponies of each gen you have.

So I added up just the standard brushable figures- your run-of-the-mill My Little Pony. So not including plushes, the G4 blind bad-type figures including CMC, or random misc merchandise I happen to have as well (of which I have plenty and am always wanting more of, lol.) I also naturally did not include ponies I know I definitely have waiting to be washed, but don't know if I have duplicates of, so that probably drastically reduces the number of G3 ponies on the list for now.

After all that...my grand total was 532. Can you believe it? That makes 226 G1 (196 if you don't count Euro/Nirvana), 17 G2, 179 G3 (again not counting ones I need to wash and account for), and 110(standard brushable) G4. That's a LOT of ponies. It feels like yesterday, I was a 15 year old kid who didn't know a thing that FiM did not tell me, looking at an avatar of a random person that happened to be a G1 cartoon screenshot and thinking "what's with the knock-off MLP?" (You ever want to go back in time and give your younger self a talking-to?) It just makes me think of how far I've really come and it's heartwarming.

So, Arena members who may or may not also have a checklist on MLPMerch to make it possible for even me to do this, what does your collection add up to?

I currently have 12 G1 in person (including nirvana) I'm expecting a few more like Baby Noddins, Baby Cuddles, Twist, Baby Jangles, Baby Pineapple, Rosy Love and Ruby Lips.

Those would bump it up to 18 G1s. I'm also going to get a Basic Fun Moonstone for my birthday.

I have no G2's in person but I'm expecting some baits to arrive, also Princess Fuschia and Her Majesty Great Romance for my birthday.

I have 19 G3s in person, none on the way.

And G4s, I have 4 which I'm keeping plus 2 baits which I'm gonna make into their show counterparts.

g1 (inc nirvana) : 37

g2: 1 (I love my nightshine so much tho <3)

I haven't counted in ages. A few years back was 800ish without counting duplicates or the few G3's... Maybe I'll get to it this weekend.

Im pretty sure if my totals correct ive got 636 ponies of all gens

I did it before over a year and a half ago (maybe almost two years ago at this point)... when I counted and included all ponies - regular ponies, other pony figures, plush (also counted MLP figures that are creatures other than ponies), I was over 500. Basically and three dimensional figure or plush of a pony character counted. I ended up forgetting to keep adding to the count every time I got something new so I don't know what my count is now.

     Hmm...I have been meaning to do a quick count of who I have, just for population numbers. I’m not sure how many I have, but I’m definitely going to use that mlp merch website you guys are talking about!

G1 667 also including petites
G2 172  yes I am near complete
G3 599 also including blind bags and ponyville
G4 645 also including blind bags and FIM collection sets.

And ofcourse stuff that doesn't belong for counting

I use an excel spreadsheet for counting and for lists a word document. For G4 I use the mlp merch site

MLPMerch is a life saver in this regard! Not sure how accurate my G4 count is but here's what I got:
170 G1 USA releases
23 retro G1
8 G2 ponies
110 G3 ponies
6 G3.5
72 G4 blind bags (more, I just dropped a bunch of them under my bed)
174 G4+.5 brushables (possibly more/missing ones)
6 GoH figures
66 Cutie Mark Crews
6 Build a Bears
78+ misc figures
646 cards (crowning jewel :3)

MLPMerch's system is still too riddled with gaps and filing mistakes in the G1 category for me to use it. But I do have a spreadsheet of my ponies. It's not totally up to date though I don't think, but each pony is listed by generation and set and so on. I also have a separate sheet for G1 backcards which alone (my record includes both loose cards and cards that are part of MOC ponies) tops 300.

I was a little startled to realise my G3 were in three figures and my G4 are about 100ish now as well.

G2 is my smallest generation but that's not totally surprising.

G1 is my largest, but the figures aren't totally up to date right now.

Well, let's see here.

G1: 45 (one of those is on the way.) 13 Earth Ponies, 9 Pegasus, 16 Unicorns, 4 Sea Ponies, 2 Flutter Ponies, 1 Winger. Of those I've reobtained 6 childhood ponies so far.

G3s: 23. 15 Earth Ponies, 5 Pegasus, 3 Unicorns.

G4s: 24. 2 Earth Ponies, 5 Pegasus, 6 Unicorns, 4 Winged Unicorns, 6 Merponies.

So 92 so far.

G1 - headcount of 201, but that includes multiples of some ponies and alternative rehairs.
There's 'only' 145 different 'official' ponies from a few different countries

G2 - 3

G3 - a lonesome Lulabelle

G4 - none, unless a Fluttershy nightlight counts

then there's 3 Anniversary ponies and 12 HQG1C as well

Actually I'm rather glad I've started an inventory as I really need to make notes of what ponies have had what repairs, what colours I used for rehair and other info.

Since mine are confined to 3 areas, I managed to do a quick head count. Here's the rundown:

G1:     119 incl. 39 customs
G2:     2
G3:     88   incl. 12 customs
G3.5:  3
G4 (brushable, blind bag, plushie, Funko, bootleg, & other) - 473 (incl. 257 BB size), not counting 3 dozen or more doubles (most are brushables in reserve for customs and spare BB's)
G4 custom (incl 3 plushies of people's OC's and 3 purchased customs): 69
G4.5:   2
Fakie:  4 (incl. 1 custom)
Equestria Girls:  4

Total: 764
Probably closer to 800 with the extra G4 BB's and brushables
