What are the official avatar requirements?

I couldn't find it anywhere and it doesn't say when you change the avatar. What is the maximum resolution, size etc. allowed?

Kiwi:
I don't believe anything official has been set down - the site automatically shrinks any down to a 120x120 px square. I believe in past we've asked members just to keep the file sizes low.
