Bow-Tie Question
« on: April 07, 2019, 02:46:15 PM »
Is there a way to tell the difference between a year 2 Bow-Tie and a year 3 Bow-Tie. Are they slightly different colors or anything else that stands out? I picked one up yesterday and the mane hair has this little tiny flip on the very bottom of the hair so it is more than likely a Year 3 right? Since year 3 had a bit of a curl to it and in played with condition the hair would be more or less all combed out.

Even if her curls are gone, you can tell a Y3 Bow Tie by the length of her hair. Pull her mane tight around her neck under her chin. If it reaches almost all the way back to her hairline, she's a Y3, and if it stops somewhere under her cheek, she's a Y2.

My Y2 Bow Tie is also a darker, summer-sky blue compared to my Y3 who is more of a pastel, robin's egg color. But that might simply be due to internal variation, I'm not sure.

The Year 3 one has longer hair. :)  The flip at the bottom does sound like it would most likely be Year 3 Bow Tie.

If you don't have one to compare it to, it is a bit hard to tell. I never knew my Firefly was year 3 until I got a year 2 one and went "wow! This hair is short."

Thanks for the tip about the hair length. The one I picked up is definitely a year 3. I don't have another one to compare it to, but I would also say mine is also sort of a pastel color blue.
