Spring Fever's Mane Colours
« on: March 20, 2019, 04:48:33 AM »
Hiya everyone,

As you know, I mainly collect G1. But sometimes those pesky G3's sneak in when I am not looking. And Spring Fever is sneakier than others as she has managed it twice.

I already had one, that I was more than happy with when another came up in a lot of bait ponies. She is extremely (extremely!) faded on one side. I will try to fade the other side to match as I really like the 'new' colour actually. But that isn't the point. What I am wondering about is the arrangement of the colours in her mane opposed to those of my original girl. Are they two different versions? I did go and have a look on the Wiki, but that does not show the hair, so now I have come here to ask you guys :)

Spoiler
My original pony is always on the left and the new girl on the right in all photos:

Oh how faded we are...

Hi!
Oh yes, there are lots of variations on this girl’s hair for some reason!
Your non faded one is the original release, probably in the tea party set with Applejack. The faded one looks like the Wing Wishes bonus pack version. She came with Blossomforth. The European one had the same pattern as the faded one, but she only has a very small amount of the other colours.
I hope this helps!

Extremely helpful, thank you so much Mlp Sunsparkle

I saw all the different releases there in their boxes. With their hair neatly hidden behind them. But now I will catalogue my two correctly, much appreciated! Faded Pony, did come from England actually.

Are you telling me somewhere in England had enough sun to make that much fading possible?
I don't believe it xD

(Totally pointless post except to say that I also think she looks pretty faded).

I'd also note that she has Fading Pink. I still have the backcard of my girl (the teaset with Applejack) and her "white" streaks are actually shown as pink on the artwork. =)
After realizing it, I noticed she faded too. Heh, that happens. She was my first childhood pony when I was 5 so I don't remember she had pink. ^^

Glad I could help :) and wow yes it’s surprising she came from here! We really don’t get much sun! Saying that, I found confetti with her super yellow stripe completely white, and g3 bow tie with no pink on her symbols, heart, or eyes! She does look pretty cool faded! Here’s my euro version so you can see the third variation:

And yes the fading pink hair! I’ve got her on display for spring but I’m so paranoid about it fading!

Now you mention it, I have seen both Honeycomb and Gypsy with faded hair patches. I guess there must've been a random flash somewhere that I missed...

Although there was one year that was very hot...

I wonder if all these variations were on purpose or if Hasbro just forgot what colour Spring Fever's hair should be?

Oh wow! so different again: much less yellow and more pink. Thank you for sharing  :)

@ Taffeta, I like her that colour too  :), and I imagine that ten plus years spent in the sun, even if is isn't the most enthusiastic sun around, would eventually have to have an effect?

She is currently sitting outside in our over achieving African sun trying to get her evened up. Interestingly her pink streak is still mostly unfaded. And her hair is still in the factory plastic strip.

If I recall, the Spring Fever that came in the Wings Wishes pack had the non faded pony's hair. (Mine also came with frizzy hair  -_-)
