Hello, hello! My name is Gilly and I am really excited to be here on MLPArena! I'm a 20-year-old college student studying Journalism, and I just started collecting G1s very recently. I've been a pony fan off and on for years (loved G3s when I was little, then got into G4s in middle school... and now here I am...)

I started after a good friend of mine got the 35th Anniversary Minty and showed her to me. I was in love! I wasn't too familiar with G1s up to that point but I just loved how cute and chubby and colorful she was. So, for Christmas, that same friend got me three ponies (A vintage Surprise and Seashell, as well as a 35th Anniversary Minty of my very own). And I just got the bug!

My collection is very small at this point (just five ponies!) but I'm looking forward to growing it in the future. I've been looking for a good place to learn more about the hobby and find people to connect with over it.

Anyway, I'm excited to explore this new hobby of mine further and get to know everyone here. It's wonderful to meet you all!

Great to have you here!  I had a bit of a giggle when you said you grew up with the G3s (like, how old do I suddenly feel??  LOL).    It's great to hear of new collectors falling in love with the original ponies from the 80s. This is a wonderful site with lots of friendly members to share your collecting joy with.  Feel free to post some pics of your current collection in the Brags forum.

Haha well. I don't know, I just think there's something so charming about the 80s ponies... even though I didn't grow up with them, I think they're so beautiful. I haven't yet wanted to collect the ponies from my childhood, but there are some pretty G3s out there so maybe I'll eventually pick a few up.

I also grew up with G3 and collect G1s now I got started collecting them when I found a basket of G1s in an antique mall. (I had actually seen G1s online and thought I didn't like them, but once I saw them in hand I fell in love!) There really is something so charming about them. The 35th Anniversary ponies are getting a lot of new and old collectors back into ponies, I'm glad they brought you here I hope you are having fun on the forums, enjoy your stay here
