Rare ponies on eBay?

I’m so interested in this story! It looks like a complete MOC collection

Heres the short story: The original owner of the storage locker passed away and the locker went up for sale, a person who buys storage lockers for a living happened to buy it for 300$. Inside were all the ponies you see plus tons of transformers, hotwheels, comics etc. I don't think it was a collector, perhaps just a man who liked to horde toys. You can see the locker here before the buyers cleaned it out:

The ponies were being kept all piled together in huge cardboard shipping crates like this:

The pictures from the auctions with the ponies all lined up nicely on shelves were set up so by the seller.So I don't think the original owner was a collector in the manner we are.

Everyone is going crazy on these auctions, the prices are going way high for sure. Good luck everyone who is bidding Baby Moondancer is already 710$

Yes... I went back and saw $2,000    I can only think that person really wants her.  But even so, doesn't that mean that someone had to bid them up?  I thought Ebay did automatic bidding?

Also MIP ponies via the GSP is risky anyway. I think it'd have to be a lower price for me to risk it.

What is the Global shipping programme and why is it risky?

That's a really lucky find! That guy must have liked ponies somewhat.  The mail order ponies are there too.  Plus, loose ponies. Maybe they came from garage sales.

Someone had  to put a max bid in at the current price  but Baby Firefly jumped from $500 to $2000 within 3 bids.

A couple of the others are starting to skyrocket in price too.

Like many others have said, this is an amazing find. So glad to see that something like this can still pop up and give something for the community to admire.

What I'm curious about is that is there a list of ponies that no-one has as MOC/MIB and if there is, are any of those ponies seen here?

They're the highest bidder on 23 of these ponies total and if that's not extremely sketchy, I don't know what is. I did the math and they'd owe $5,104.17 to the seller if they won them all at the current prices, before shipping of course. They've either gotta be a non paying bidder, or they're bidding purely for the sake of raising the prices.
