I'm curious -- Why did you cut away plastic rather then clean all the surfaces?

Since mold starts off super tiny, I think you should still clean the rest of the box to kill the mold that may still remain on the surface (but might not be visible yet).

I thought cutting away the plastic with the visible mold after cleaning would stop new mold from growing.
