I haven’t really been around the Pony world since mid-G3 and I’ve seen some people saying there is an unofficial G4.5. I’m having a hard time seeing it, like I looked through Pinkie Pie’s page on MLPwiki and they all look the same to me.
Can you show me some examples of the differences between G4 and G4.5?
My Little Wiki is behind on releases, they don't have any of the 4.5s on them yet. They redid the style of the G4 molds sometime in 2016 (not sure when exactly as I wasn't as actively collecting for a couple years around then).
Here's some comparisons I took!
G4.5 brought in some more dynamic poses (though the basic standing one still exists, just redone in the new style), made the heads rounder, and the legs thinner. A lot of collectors don't like them and prefer the previous G4s, but I personally prefer G4.5 as I think they look closer to the FiM cartoon and they look more lively.
