New My Little Pony Film Confirmed!

It's Toy Fair time yall! And with it comes announcements.

Now the idea of a 2nd MLP:FiM movie came about after the G4/G5 leaks last year, but we do have official confirmation.

It will be released in 2021, and will be CGI of course. This is a full length film.

There's another 44 minute G4 special happening as well that deviates from the leaks! It's supposed to happen over summer 2019, and includes an already revealed toy tie-in and synopsis.
I know the leaks have "Event special/sequel tie-in" but I feel this is different, since it's confirmed G4.

Still awaiting confirmation on if the movie is G4 or G5.

I wonder if they are doing that in place of the G4 sequel movie idea?

I think anything that isn't confirmed to the public should always be taken with a grain of salt. Sometimes projects get delayed as budgets and other priorities allow. :O I mean even publicly announced things can change (notice "all dates subject to change").

Is there an official page that has the information on it? Is this a theater release or direct to home release. The later seems more likely?

Won’t be seeing this since it’s CGI (cgi always looks so bland and colorless to me), but I wonder if it’s still gonna be g4 or if they’re doing g5.

Micronauts! Wow, that's a deep cut even for an 80s kid. I guess this means that weird rumor from a couple of years ago about plans for a G.I.Joe/Micronauts/M.A.S.K./Visionaries cross-over movie universe was true after all.

The G4 special is called "Rainbow Roadtrip" and involves the Main Six trying to return the color to a mysteriously  washed-out town in time for the Rainbow Festival. I think a couple color-change toys were previewed... Non-brushable ponies with parts that go from white to rainbow in cold/hot water.

It's basically just a two-part episode -- not enough plot to hang a whole movie on -- so I don't think it's related to the proposed sequel or the 2021 movie, but I could be wrong. Maybe the rainbow thief turns out to be Murky Dismal in a spectacular, brand-shattering twist.

The "event special" in that first timeline that says "Event Special" for 2019 kind of sounds like it might be the Rainbow Roadtrip special or something.

There's this timeline that often gets overlooked too, we'll have to see if it holds up this week! We already have rainbow wings Twilight and the rainbow tail ponies, it's gonna be a colourful year regardless!
