The plans are getting finalised for 90’s Girl UK. In Norwich on the 14th & 15th September for those of you who didn’t read the previous post.

Part of the event will be a pop up toy museum. Ghost of the Doll will be there, sharing their unrivalled 80’s & 90’s toy knowledge and Stephanie Eskander, US toy designer, is coming for the weekend.

Now, as a few of you already know, I’m currently a team of 1 with a budget dependent on people buying tickets and booking stalls. Translation, I have the foundations in place but I need people to buy tickets in advance to pay for all the exciting goodies that will make the event truly spectacular.

My question is... Would Stephanie Eskander’s appearance help sway your decision to buy a ticket? It’s her first time at a Uk event I believe but I don’t want to book her and literally be the only one who is super excited about it. Opinions would be fabulous folks. Thank you.

I’m contacting some amazing contributors for this event and my current 315 followers look a little pathetic when doing so - oh the pressures of social media!

Stalls are available for the whole weekend from £70 and there are a huge amount of activities planned. Tickets are currently on a 50% off early bird rate of £7.50 per day, £12.50 for the weekend.

Hi! I follow you on IG too and this looks so exciting! I’m really interested, the only think I need to check out is travel routes though as Norwich can be a pain to get to. Great to see another vintage toy themed con popping up though!

Thanks 💖 It’s a great venue (contracts mean I can’t officially announce until some details are ironed out) and Norwich is a bit of a hidden gem. I’m hoping to book a Friday evening get together too, like a smaller party. It would be good to know if people are interested.

Thanks! Once I can fully announce the venue I will provide more travel information. There is quite a bit on the website already, including 3 well placed hotels.

I love Norwich as a city, but it will have to wait till I know where I'm going to be based after the end of August as that's still a mystery to me now. If I'm back home where my parents live it will be too far to manage, but it depends on a lot. It's close to ponycon in timing and I generally prioritise that so it will depend on my location as to whether I can do both.

 It sounds interesting, though. We can never have too many celebrations of pony stuff

I understand about ponycon. Admittedly have stopped going the last few years but I think that’s just due to not liking the G4 toys. Hope you can make it. Pony stuff will definitely be a priority.

Yay! I’m hopeful it takes off too. I’ve got so much planned, just need to sell enough tickets to pay for all the plans. I am going to sell weekend tickets only for the first couple of advertising campaigns and see how it goes.

I stopped going to ponycon when the G4 hype was at its peak, but it's G1 enough for me these days. I'm a G1 person anyway. More, though, a lot of people I've known for around 2 decades go to ponycon and it's the one chance I have in a year to catch up with them, so that's the big draw for me. I really like the idea of your con, though, and will keep up to date with the details.

 If it were somewhere central like Birmingham, I'd be there - but Norwich requires creative transport if you're not in the South/East, and unless I'm still in London (which is unlikely), it might be tough to shoulder both. Even from where I am right now it would be a trek since I'd have to get into London, cross it to Liverpool Street and then out again, which is a pain with a case.

I’ve looked at travel from Manchester and Norwich is a bit of a pain to get to. I might have to give it a miss this year, but if it moves around and was somewhere more central I would definitely go!

Thing is, I have to make this one a success before thinking of other venues. I contacted many similar venues that were more central and I just wasn’t impressed by one or more factors. We’ll see what the future holds.

Count me in! I've never been to Norwich before (only left the north-west a handful of times!) so it'd be interesting to see somewhere new and I can always go for 90s nostalgia!

80’s and 90’s, perhaps a little early 00’s. I’m in the process of organising guests. Who would you like to see?

Hopefully in a few years it will be big enough for people to want to travel to or I will be mobile enough to take it on the road.
