Some people have reported success with patience and a very very low heat setting on a curling iron. If you want to avoid heat altogether like you mentioned, I would just curl it to try to hide the frizz. That hair is doomed to be frizzy, it seems.If she has problems balancing, did you leave her with her legs separated (I'm assuming that is the problem) for a while?
I use heat. Never melted anything!
