Depends on the price/place. If they're not scooped up at the Goodwill outlet, they head to the landfill, so they need rescue. If it's a seller at a flea market who seems to have some idea that vintage toys aren't just garbage then I'm more apt to leave some. I'd have taken that nice flocked Shady too even without needing. Maybe you can trade her within the pony community for a pony you do need.

I won't take commons if I find them.  I left a G1 Windy in a bag when I was at Value Village the day before yesterday...

Because I find them so infrequently at my Goodwill I do buy any G1 or G3 I find. Two weeks ago I found a whole shelf of Breyer horses that were being put out (this was first thing in the morning). I chose two for me and two for my BFF and left the rest. Not wanting to be greedy nor having the money, I'd hoped that someone would have as much joy. As I did spotting them standing there.

Maaan I wish I had that sorta luck at thrift stores, yard sales and swapmeets. The only G1 I ever found at a swapmeet was a manky Cotton Candy. G3s are ever so slightly more likely. I don't leave those behind, aside from the McDs G3s.

...but when it's a ratty-looking G3 or G4 I just think 'who else is going to appreciate it, I must buy it and restore it!'. I realise my mania for 'rescuing' damaged toys probably says something about me psychologically .

When you find (or found) a support group for this behavior, give me a call so I can join. Just back from the thrift store with things I really don't "need"

Poseys hair is so pink and Shady seems to be in really great shape! You are so lucky!  :D

I only left a g1 behind one or maybe two times when the condition was really poor with chewmarks and dirt all over.

I can leave G3:s and G:2s behind if they are common and I leave newer ones behind quite often.

G1's and G2's don't get left behind!  Unless the seller is out of their mind price wise, of course.  ;)

I feel ya! It is no pony left behind if they're a reasonable price is my motto. Except for Parasol, she has been a plague pony for me, I can leave her in a heartbeat (I'm terrible, right?).

Mlp4me I totally understand - parasol, cotton candy, moondancer and the Christmas baby/baby stockings really are like a plague lol

Oh wow, I would definitely have snapped these two girls up. They are in beautiful condition :lovey:  Even if I don't need a pony, I like to get it into the collecting circle if it is in good condition rather than risk it falling into the hands of a child and being ruined.  Great buy!  :cheer:

Posey's hair is so PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK. I bet that if you left her behind it would have faded. Good job on saving ponies!

I never leave behind any ponies in the wild that I don't have already - of any generation, since I collect them all. Regardless of condition, too. This includes different versions of the same pony. This is why despite me not enjoying how much Mane 6 Hasbro's been churning out for the past however many years now (I only get them new if I really like the gimmick or they come in a set with a new pony), I still have a whole bunch of different versions of each of the Mane 6 from my thrift trips. I do usually leave behind ones I already own though, unless I know they're in better shape than the one currently in my collection, in which case I'll get the new one as an upgrade to the old.

Like, in the antique mall I've been going to frequently lately, there's a Lickety-Split in one vendor's space that's been there longer than I've been shopping there. I feel bad that nobody's given her a home yet, but I already have Lickety-Split, and the one there is in worse shape than my own. And even mine I do plan on upgrading eventually.

I did have a recent exception to my "buy any pony in the wild I don't already own rule" though a few days ago. Found Glimmer Wings Fluttershy in a toy bag at the Goodwill, but she was flawed with highlighter marks around her symbol, was the only thing in the bag I was interested in at all, and they wanted $6 for the bag so I left her there. Felt terrible to do it but I didn't want to spend $6 on a small G4 pony that I would eventually want to upgrade in the future. May as well save that $6 and wait to find a cheaper, better condition one.

What I said earlier? Forget it, they all come with me. I picked up a Parasol and she was much lighter than the one I already have, so I'm keeping her.

They’re in such nice condition. Yes, I think I would have rescued them, too. If you’re like me, you would regret it later if you left them behind. Now common ponies that are not hard to find in good shape, ponies that are in poor condition or overpriced ... I can leave those.

I do that all the time :P I even fall in love with the pony over and over and have a hard time letting them go XD
I never leave a G1 pony behind! (unless crazily overpriced :P)

Yours look really great!!
