That stubborn bridle from the 35th Anniversary Pretty Parlor.
« on: December 27, 2018, 11:29:24 AM »
It's great collecting MLP, the ones I grew up with from the 80s'. The 35th Anniversary versions are the best. And that includes the Pretty Parlor remake with Peachy and Twinkles (the Custard mold version). But I have only one small complaint - the bridle.  That stubborn bridle I often have a hard time putting it on Peachy's head. Most of the time I got it to hook up just fine, other times I don't. Today I had to have use tweezers to try to pull the bridle together when I tried to put the bridle on Peachy again.

I even tried boiling the plastic bridle in water for a minute or two to make it soft, a bit stretchable and easy for me to wrap around the pony's head since the bridle is made from firm plastic. But it still won't go around Peachy's head all the way.

I think that the hard plastic heads of the ponies are what makes it hard for the bridle to attach itself to the pony's head. You have to squeeze the pony's head to get the bottom part of the bridle to hook onto the latch. But it's a bit difficult with the ponies' bodies made from a much different kind of plastic than the soft plastic originals.

What Basic Fun should've done is make the bridle a little bit bigger so it'll be much easier for me to put the bridle onto the heads of all the ponies instead of just Peachy.

To those of you who have the 35th Anniversary version of the Pretty Parlor, how do you manage to fit the bridle onto Peachy's head without pulling your hair out and wreaking the pony's head?

Oh my god, you were able to get it on at all? That's further than I've gotten!
I've just resorted to displaying without the bridle on. It prevents any possible pink dye bleeds, anyway.

Hmm it must vary from set to set. My daughter has no issues putting it on Peachy.

I haven't had issues with the bridle, but the basket/saddle is a different story.

I remember having a hard time with the original bridles, so I am not surprised :)
