Sandbar has been spotted!

I saw on FB that Sandbar has been spotted at Target! I'm so excited, he's the only new pony I've been excited for for quite some time! I've actually been considering buying a factory version from China though because those ones have regular hair, and I'm not too sold on his 'do yet. Maybe it will grow on me! I'll be looking for him!
I just wish he didn't come with a G3.5 (guh) and a Mane 6 one at that, buuuut that's Hasbro for ya, what can ya do. xD I do love that turtle though.

He's super cute!

The store-bought ones might not have quite as long of hair as the Taobao ones, but it probably is also a bit longer than it looks . . . since the back part of his mane is brushed forwards so it goes up his neck to serve as bangs.  So if you styled it a little differently it could at least be a bit longer in the back.

Wait... am I missing something or does he have a boy pony head on a girl pony body?! :o    when did they start doing that?    Shining Armor, Big Mac and Soarin'  are also G4.5 and had boy bodies..
 it makes him look like he's got a really long neck in those pics as well......
Other than that, yay for more boys!!!

Yes! Sandbar is meant to be younger, like a teenager.

ok thanks for the explanation     missed that one. guess I was looking for feathers/ furry hooves so I didn't think about age in the show.. I'm from the G1 era lol .

I'm waiting on my sandbar to come from China! I don't have to bother rinsing his hair of all the goop, which is certainly a plus.
The pony aisle has been so empty lately, even with the two student releases..

Does anyone have a photo of the store version's hair from the side? I got mine from China and I'm not sure which version I've got, he seems to have store version hair :s Although if he does then it certainly looks better in person than the photos I've seen, lol.

I bought a set at a target in LA, but I used sandbar to customize into my own character for my december desserts series. His body is more similar to a regular female body- he doesn't have the stallion broader shoulders/legs, but his head is the same shape as a stallion head, just smaller. It looks a little odd but I guess he's supposed to be a tween?
