Head Removal Gone Wrong

Rescued Newborn Tangles today from thrift and saw she had tail rust

“i’ll pop off her head and oxy clean her! i’ve done it once before!!”

after 20 minutes of tugging she still wasn’t moving.  i got a cloth and decided to try a wrench wrapped in cloth to tug real hard. 

still wasn’t working, but in my passion i must’ve done something wrong.  how she’s got a scar right between the eyes.     plastic damage.

head didn’t come off but i just stopped right there.

too embarrassed to share a pic.  now she’s always gonna be looking up at me ...  with that damage...

oh hon it happened to all of us in this way or another... i hope the damage is not that horrible as you describe and you'll pop up her head eventually... when they difficult sometime its help to put her under warm water to off the glue a bit...

Newborns can be tough. I've done a full on head rip leaving the neck plug still stuck inside. Maybe try some heat from a blow dryer to see if the spot will subside?

Pretend it's a birthmark or sugery scar... that way Baby Tangles can brag about it to all the other little newborns... she'll never know the difference.

Masquerade came to me with a long green permanent marker up her leg that was never coming off so I turned it into a vine and got her a little more dressed up for the costume party...

One thing to remember about permanent marker lines if you ever need to know is that they grow fatter as they age and get blurred though...

Moonstone came to me half-eaten by some beast or toddler... but it turned out okay too.

Moonstone you see is secretly a space alien, the tip of her unicorn horn chipped off when she crash-landed the space ship in ponyland but she was unphased by that because all the other little unicorns don't tease her they respect her for her out-of-this-world powers!

thank you all.  I've just never damaged a pony before.
 

maybe i'll come back to her later and see if I can get her loose later.  kinda worried about the rust - so it will be the "battle of the annoyances" to determine what I'll do.   


the slash mark does seem to have subsided in severity after a few hours.  ya maybe it's battle damage from Tyrek.

Try a blowdryer, I've had success with getting heads loose with that type of heat and a flat head screwdriver...

Oh my, I'm sorry! Nothing feels more terrible than when you are trying to help a pony and you make it worse. I second the use of a hairdryer: can work wonders

Not just heat, but also carefully forcing a dull round blade such as a breakfast knife into the neck seam worked for me, even best a combination of both. Just be careful to choose one without any saw-like indents, it should be totally even and dull enough not to harm the pony.

I use a baby spoon and near-boiling water. 

Last time I just pulled really hard, I tore the neck of a pony and it never glued back perfectly because the plastic was so brittle!
