Basic Fun Wave 3 on Target.com + Green Monday discount

The retro unicorn / pegasus set (Moondancer, Firefly, etc) is now listed on Target.com!  They are individually $9.99, same price as you would find in the store.   Just go to the site and search for "My Little Pony Moondancer" or other pony of choice.  I believe they also have free shipping!

But wait, there's more.   Today Target is having a Green Monday sale with a discount on most toys. "Spend $100 and save $25, spend $50 and save $10."  Wow!  As far as I can tell it does apply to the retro ponies, as well as regular G4s of course.

I'm so surprised these aren't in stores :/ I thought for sure they'd be there for the holiday season...

I'm so tempted by that minty white Glory (9 left?!). But I think I'll pass... for now.

The distribution seems to depend on the individual Target.  I've heard of people finding them in stores, but I haven't seen them at all in my own Target (and I check frequently). 

The bigger issue is in the way Target has assigned a DPCI code to the sets, using the same code for Wave 1 and Wave 3, which means they can't specifically order Wave 3. It also means their system isn't triggered to order more Uni/Pegs until the Collector ponies are getting low, because the two sets have the same code.

My guess is they did not expect the retros to be as popular as they are and didn't want to get stuck with extra stock.  But even the Collector ponies (who are not the most dynamic MLPs) have been selling well where I am . . . BUT they get sold out and then restocked with more Collector ponies, instead of the Unis/Pegs.  RRRRGH!

I'm glad they're online finally but wow it hurts my heart to think of all the missed impulse sales from not having them on the shelves.  That's one of the most popular G1 sets, too.

Oh. I know that they have been found in stores...

but I'm surprised the site says not in stores. I know my husband uses their app to scan merch to see if it's available within 50 miles, or if we can order it to the store.

In fact, it says it for the rainbow ones too. O_o; To which, are in stores. They should be able to have inventory count for individual ponies, no?

But yes, impulse sales. It's xmas time~

Oh, good eye, I didn't notice it said that.  Yeah, I think they're just wrong on that point, LOL.  Maybe it's a legal thing?  Like "Don't blame us if you go to the store and don't see them."

My target finally got not one, but two sets of wave three!!!  I picked up Twilight, Sunbeam and Medley.  So they're finally showing up in store again!

Damn they should have came out earlier. I ran so far to another Nordstrom Rack just to get Glory, the last one I needed. Now I'm tempted to buy another Glory to complete my MIB set. I have one set loose and one set MIB.

I've yet to actually see them. I know target has a spot for them... too bad i missed the online deal.

They FINALLY just showed up near me at one Target. Naturally this was after I already bought them online.
