I've always thought of this one as a male. He's much darker than blue Ember. We all have ponies that in our heads may not conform to the correct gender (and it gets you all talking, I love it!). Plus, look at how awesome he looks with his special order brothers!

I go for boy with this one. The colors are so dark and masculine in my opinion.

Seems like a boy to me too, he's new to me and I really love that deep shade of blue! If I ever stumble across him, he'll be more than welcome to a home with me. What a little cutie!

I'm now wondering if there is anything official that gives us a gender for this pony! I always assumed a girl because of the pose vs the bulkier poses for Lucky and Clipper, and it tends to be much later in MLP that boys are in girl poses (generalising but you know what I mean, like baby schoolbag and Sportstime...)

But the pony wasn't sold here...we had the game as a comic pull out but nothing about the pony. So I now really want to know whether Baby Blue Ribbon was marketed as a girl or a boy?

(Of course everyone is free to make their own preferences. My rule is to gender my ponies on the official stance where possible...does anyone know? Is there a flier or something?)

Ah, now you understand why I wing it sometimes with my polls! Voting we just unanimously call this one a boy because we really need more boy ponies in the G1 line...

Huh. I've always heard him referred to as a boy, so that's probably why I see him that way, but I swear there was something official.

I read a G. M. Berrow G4 book (Applejack & the Secret Diary Switcheroo) in which Blue Ribbon appeared as a stallion in charge of giving out prizes to the best apple farm. I decided it was a shout-out to G1, though I suppose it could just be coincidence
